Went to Teleflora.com and saw the "find a florist" link at the bottom of the page in teeny tiny itsy bitsy type, so I clicked on it ...took me right back to Teleflora.com, not findaflorist.com.
Same happened to me. (I was thinking they had the 'RC cookie' and were just funnin' you. )
What does this mean? Hard to guess but my best interpretation is that findaflorist is more successful that TF.com. Google's latest update loves findaflorist, btw. And that site is finally passing page rank to florists with listings - which has bumped up a lot of the TF hosted florist sites in search results.
Does this mean that more consumers like the directory than TF.com? TF.com can't be leaking PR because they're only a PR5 but findaflorist is a PR7. (No wonder they put affiliate links on non-paying members.)
I bet it's just one of those mysterious "malfunctions" that always happened to ftd.com around the busy times of the year too.
It'll be back after business gets slow again.
Yes RC - it's the way it's supposed to work, for them
"surprised" and "perplexed"??
Now that the LAST supposedly "friendly" wire service is showing you the keyhole, watcha think comes next??
Just follow past history, and watching a dog chasing it's tail will help!!
It was fixed for a day after it was posted here, then un-fixed again. I thought this was part of the service they were selling people with their sites. Not that anyone would use that anyway once they get to tf.com...
oops! they must be reading - fixed again - for a few hours?
I wonder if it's related to the incoming link? TF and FTD have been known to hide or break the link to their find a florist sites if the consumer came through a pay per click link.
i got a "survey" from Tel today asking what I liked or didn't like about the findaflorist thingee. About a dozen questions in all and space for essays-how timely. Anyone else?
did you notice the question about whether you'd want to pay for a 6 month listing in "findaflorist" (monthly, all at once or other)? I'm pretty sure that can only mean bad things.
Nope - it isn't about the incoming paid listing link like ftd.com does (their's just disappears if you go thru a paid link) - it is there tonight if you get there thru overture.
Don't have a tf web site any more. If I did, I would, cuz this was part of the deal, they were gonna promote it for us.
But the proof was in the eating, and with their promoting it, I got 14 orders in a year.
So I quit, AND had my name removed from the findaflorist, since I don't allow people to advertise our name for their business.
