Teleflora.com Prices?

Yes I noticed this the day the site went live Nov 9th. I see the SRPs at a nickle lower than SRP.

While I'll be doing my fair share of Refusals with those low ball orders there will be pleanty of Fillers who will take them without batting an eye.

On all my OKC orders that hit the printer I ask for $44.85 for shipping/delivering and handling;)

If you have a paid site, one recieves the service fee of 9.95. Less the 1.95 fee they charge for handling the order. Netting you 8$. Should be sufficent to cover the cost of del. All at 100$ dollars.

If not a paid site then I guess you may have an issue. But then your not havine the order beat for 27% either. On a 50$ order, that still represents a difference of 13.50$.

Nothings free... or perfect... Sometimes only a little better.

We get so few orders from TF.com to begin with that I don't see what the big deal is. I'm not refering to your post Gforal, I just mean over all with the TF.com website. The floristboard people made a huge fuss about it to. I think I have recieved 3 TF.com orders in the last 3 years. There are only two TF florists in the entire south half of the county that we service so I know that the other shop is not getting any more than we are. Do some shops really get a lot of orders from them?

I knew the "Well at least it isn't at 27%" thing would come up.

That is just a cop out answer. Sorry but if they say we get the orders at 100% they should be at 100%.

But the big thing again is. What about all of the florists independent websites that have the orders priced with delivery. And then flower buyers see that well Teleflora.com is cheaper. there goes that florists order.

And guess what? Even the websites that Teleflora sets up with their florists has $5 added to the SRP to cover delivery automaticly. Hmmm, strange that they would do something to actuallt UNDERCUT their own florist's sites.

They are taking a piece of the pie no matter how it is spun.

Just take a look at the new Teleflora Co-op ads.
There is a big www.teleflora.com banner across the whole bottom. So ABC florist buys a co-op ad. One of ABC florists customers sees the ad and wants that item. The customer see's ABC florist's website and looks at the item $50. Hmm then looks at Teleflora.com and sees $44.95. Well it is cheaper at Teleflora.com so the customer gets it there. Not only does the customer get it there they also just pick the reccomended florist, a florist that NEVER EVEN HAD A CO-OP ad.

Thanks, Teleflora now florists that didn't even buy a co-op ad have a chance of getting that order from the people that did advertise.

Not asking for free...just asking for fair.

Is it fair to ask someone to deliver something without a delivery charge?

That may be true now but what about down the road a bit since they are REALLY advertising it all out. And also it is no longer just a florist directory. So now it is easier for the customer to use and understand. Teleflora said by their own admission they they had a large amount of people dump out of the site before even finding their florist.

Generally, the Teleflora-hosted sites do not include a delivery charge in the arrangement prices. (I suppose a shop could opt for it, however.) The delivery price is separate and set by each shop based on their own pricing structure...

If you see prices $5.00 higher than SRP, it may be the shop's decision to sell at a higher price.

Ain't we glad we didn't pay for coop advertising (if you did, sorry...) Who will the customer choose - your name in 10 point font with 50 other florists on the page or THEIR name in about 120 point font?

If I remember right, coop ads cost several hundred dollars - **** would I feel like a sucker now if I paid. The 20 million on advertising is this time going to keep people out of our shops, while sending orders I paid to get to my competitor. What an about face, huh?

All over my town now there are billboards for comcast internet saying stuff like "if you had comcast, you would be doing your Christmas shopping at ho ho home."

Nice of them to make it all the easier to do that.

Lots saying they don't get many orders from them anyway on their tf web sites, well they are gonna be getting less now unless they can be the "recommended" shop and that don't look likely.

Something else worth noting is on the website, a consumer can put in their coupon code, to get a discount of $3.00 also. I believe it is on the USA Today Thanksgiving special ad-vert that will be in this weekend's newspaper.

How do you list your prices on your website??

On ours, you see the price of the arrangement. Only AFTER choosing the arrangement and dealing with recipient info do you get to the nasties of delivery charges. And TF has a $9.95 delivery charge added on.

If a customer sees a higher price on my site it is because I sell for a higher price, NOT because of delivery charges.

That is the problem Ryan, TF sites do not let the Florist member change anything on the fly...I thinks one has to call them to get the change made or fax the information to them.

If there is anything positive about the TF linky is that they still let me have MY site and did not remove the link from the find a florist...oops now that they have read this it will be a matter of time before it dissapears.

My orders go through my checkout not theirs and that is what I call 100%.

Our delivery is included in the total price, just like FTD.com and 1-800. We have no service charge.

Also the $9.95 service charge at TF.com only goes to florists that have a site with teleflora, others do not get that.

Thanks,

I wasn't aware of that. But I do know that the lady's site I looked at had not redone ony of the pricing except for the roses.

Thanks JB for actually understanding what I was saying.

G hits a great point there, if it is on my site for $54.95 and on theirs for $44.95, well the web makes it REAL easy to comparison shop, and the public don't REALLY know that different shops will give different value (they think of it as cookie cutter work).

You don't even have to start the engine to go to another shop on the web.

One more faction - I find 30% of the public choose to telephone, ask the hard question - how are those orders going to be sent out and who's watching? They kinda do have a couple order generating systems in place to run them thru. 100%? hmmm, let me think

HEY! didn't I SAY THEY will make YOU and Me look....

E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E ????

What a sad state of affair this TF crapola has become. It's like telling GRANDPA, just GO AWAY...we don't need you hanging around anymore since your on a fixed BUDGET.

What else can I say?:loopy
