A few weeks ago a regular customer called wanting to send the Kinkade Skater Pond to Naples, FL. I had not yet entered the US prices for the TF specials into our POS system (have since done so), so I guessed at the US price and sent the order by Dove. I received Dove System REF message saying they couldn't find anyone in Naples coded for this item that had an active Dove. I thought this was ridiculous, so I waited a week and sent the order again.

Again, the order was refused by the Dove system saying their were no active Dove members covering Naples. The directory shows 20 dove shops. Feeling curious, I sent the order to TF HQ to have them forward the order.

Today I received a CMT from TF HQ saying the amount I sent was below the TF minimum for this item and I needed to send a PRC. So I checked my numbers again ...

The minimum amount TF asked me to send: $65
The amount I sent: $67.95
The amount on TF.com: $64.95

I replied that I had sent $3 more than a TF.com order would have. I'm waiting to hear their answer.

Don't get me wrong... I am willing to send the amount a florist needs to do the job right ... and I have our system set to a $64.95 USD + $7.95 delivery price for this item. (Remember I had not programmed in the prices at the time of the order, this person ordered in mid November.)

My issue is, when I send $67.95, TF HQ is demanding a PRC increase to $65,
while they only charge $64.95 ... What are they smoking???

Or did I miss something?

So - did you send them a price DECREASE?

Actually....

Dove and Merc are both "programmed" to treat Florida as a "hostile" fill region, and ANYTHING MORE than is necessary is rejected.
Has ANYONE HERE, ever heard of shops NOT carrying anything other than RED poinsettias???......apparently, nobody in Naples has white, or pink, or burgundy points.....as of yesterday!
You think maybe $65.00 PLUS delivery would maybe have them pot a tri-colour up for my sender???......NOPE!

Maybe I should open a shop in Naples and really make a booming business.

JUST A SUGGESTION-Naples ( I think they are only 40 miles or so from port Charlotte)and the surrounding areas were hit pretty hard during the hurricane season there may not be as many shops up and running as normal yet. Or perhaps they are very very busy trying to pick up what down shops can't do yet. Also I would guess that some of the Poinsettia growing in our state may have been dammaged. Our supply in the south east part of the state seems ok so far but I wouldn't be surprised if there were problems. It takes us a long time to recover from one of these storms and there were 4 this year--just a thought.

thanks for the reminder Lorrie.....

dammned us northerners...who "forget" about the bloody he^ll you guys have gone through....I'd like to retract any negative notions that I may have "inspired".
Luc....IF Canadians can "survive" these storms any better, I'd be surprised!!

Damm you Luc,

Think before you speak.
But Lorie, there is ALWAYS aproblem to fill a order in Florida NO MATTER. Even if it is clear sky, no rain, no snow, no huricanne, nothing happen, there is always a problem. THanks for the reminder about the hurricanne. Little we forget on time.

Thanks for the reminder, Lorrie. The first shop I called the phone number was disconnected. They were top of the directory list for this cycle, too ...

I found a shop that was quite happy to fill (at the proper price, of course).

I'm pretty sure that Sher and I would carry piggy back(!!!) any orders you have here in south east florida--so don't give up entirely on us Floridians yet!!

OK - You're marked as our preferred for your area.

Always good to get to know the good shops in Florida!

Lorrie and I travel

However we want to stay at the Ritz in Naples. They put chocolate on your pillow everynite.but we sure can get those orders over there for you. If it makes you feel any better, Naples has always been a problem for us as well but looking back over the years, maybe they have looked after the 100% client rather than the discounted ones. Perhaps they have been ahead of us in this project.Lorrie is correct that some of the shops will never open again, leather farms will never grow again and things will change down here . Spoke with a wholesaler in WPB who delivers to me and I was asking for fresh wreaths that I had forgotton and small gold balls. They had to order in July so everyone was worried and even they did not get enough in so......no gold balls......and Mikey behave yourself on that one!
