Overpriced or underpriced

They are slightly underpriced for most shops...looking at the pink carn casket cover with markup and labor added in we should get 141.93, that is if you are paying 40 cents a carn and getting 25% labor and 3.5x mark up on fresh and 2x mark up on hard goods...it is slightly overpriced if you are like my shop and have a 20% labor and 3x markup on fresh and 2x hard good...in all actuality I would take it, I have it on my website for 114.95 and have made it for that, even once you take off the 27% there is still 55.83 to go towards paying the bills, there is only 33.20 cents cogs and remember if you belong to a wire service you have to pay the bill wether or not you use the service so that 55.83 goes towards paying that bill, you get enough of tose in a month and the bills do get paid....

I now that is not working smarter it is working harder, but if your out going isn't paying those bills, the incoming must and you have to have volume in order to have surplus, if you choose to play that game....now for those of us that do not have yet quite enough local biz to run efficiently and we have eccess production time, does that 55.83 go towards the bills that we have chosen to create, yes...do we work harder making less incoming money and expending more energy, yes, but it does go towards our bottom line, would we be better off without TF and the bills, probably, but if you are stuck with them for now the fact remains that underpriced but with excess money above cogs, the money goes towards the bottom line....yes confusing, but it beats sitting waiting for the phone to ring for that illustrious 100% sale that I can take care of still if it happens...because I don't have enough business in a day to keep me busy anywho...

Is it right that TF charges less than what most need to make this, no....

I just went to a TF show last night in NH and Bert Ford was the designer...He made a really good point about the fact that we do not need to get 100% on every sale we make....if your items are priced at the 3x fresh 2x hard good and 20% labor or what ever you price at, you can afford to do sales of 10-20% off and still make money on those items....now if you have all your customers paying 100% you can give many a 10% off bone here and there and still make it and still make it with 30% incoming and pay the tf bill...no you won't be rolling in dough, but you will be ensuring that your customers are happy, and will come back and you have still made money on the items you sold, albeit not 100% of what you wanted to make...yes you have worked harder for your money this time out, but you have made money not lost....
