Located in this months statement is an announcment for a $25,000 Giveaway.

All one has to do is "Simply send more Teleflora orders per month than you did last year. For each month you beat last year's number, you are entered to win one of the following monthly prizes: One $1,000 cash prize, 25 Telleflora floor mats, 50 Teleflora wall clocks and 100 Teleflora aprons."

Who do you think will win????????Which OG?????

I don't know what they are smoking out there in Los Angles but will someone send me some???:bloomz:

The other promotion they have to win Thomas kinkade is onlay avaible in the US not canada. So I won't be surprise this contest is for US shop also. I won't be surprise, I may eat my words, but they didnt even reply to my last post about the contest. Not even a call from teleflora. At least with FTD you get a response by phone if they don't want to answer here.

Up date:
Got information that the $25,000 contest...Canadian shops are eligible. I am being sent the rules and regulations about it.
Luc

Luc, sez in the rules that the Province of Quebec are not eligable.
Also says No Purchase or Sale Necessary to enter or win. Oh I didn't see that...only 6 mail entrys max per shop.

Hope I win so I can offset the cost of the Book.

I was up once too...then all crappola happened to our Economy.

Blue,

Glad to see you respecting the mom. Took me over three years to convince my mom that FTD was not the same and that getting out might possibly be the way to go. I gave her as much time as she needed and she came around and now she doesn't resent me for it the way she would have if I had not waited for her.

Good for you!
Patty

I guess Teleflora had ot do something since probably FTD contest was eating at their profits.

Well, I know we're not going to win it so it doesn't much matter to me.

We've cut the amount of TF orders out by half - every time we turned around we paying them money. I know, I know - people say that I'm not really 'paying' because people already paid it. By sending less TF and more FTD - I'm getting cheques back from both which is spiffy with me.

I'm trying to get the bosses to jettison the Bird and they're considering it.

Getting cheques back generally means losing money ... unless you're talking about your rebate cheques. You're probably better off having only one - it's up to you to decide which.

We receive far more in wire-ins than wire-outs - though we do incredibly brisk business in wire-outs. It's a sad reality in our city - our young people tend to leave town at a rather alarming rate. I would say I send out half of what I receive. Of those incoming orders, FTD outpaces Teleflora 3-1. Even with this ratio, we're the top sending TF and FTD shop in town. It boggles the mind.

Before anyone suggests that we promote our wire services - we really don't need to. Our competitors are doing it for us! We have 17 flower shops in the Soo. Of those, two shops are FTD and five are the Bird (both FTD shops are also TF). Guess what those other 12 shops do? Instead of calling an order out using a credit card - they send their customers to us. You wouldn't believe how many of those people than stay with us.

So, why not drop FTD, cut your losses on the incomings (don't worry, the good shops who recognize quality will still get their orders to you) and tell TF you want incentive to be TF only.

With due respect, Ryan, I don't believe the whole picture is presented. We don't see ourselves losing with FTD. We use FTD product, like the services and the service that we have been receiving from FTD. Services and service we haven't been getting from Teleflora - the service we get has been disappointing.

Teleflora is signing up every shop they can here, we've only got one FTD competitor here. Leaving FTD would give them a monopoly and isolate us from some of our favorite shops. Given how TF has been playing the 'anything you can do, I can do' game with fees - I don't see how losing FTD and keeping TF would improve things.

Audra

Oh, that's right ... you have Richard. That explains a lot!
