I pay around $500 a month to Ma Bell. I have DSL line, three phone numbers that roll (centrex), long distance, etc. I think it's an awful lot of money.
Is this close to what everyone else pays?

....exact same scenario. We pay ~$300/m and am trying to figure how to
pare this down. Been looking at
http://www.voipyourlife.com/index.php?vyla=vyla
but have not figured out how we can make it work for us yet. I think they require a broadband connection.

Our long distance is separate beacause it is cheaper/min. That runs about $40/m which includes our 800#.

We pay about $675 for 5 lines, DSL, a little advertising.

Verizon - $200-$300 - 5 lines, DSL, call forwarding, minimal advertising is billed separately.
Qwest - $30-$50 monthly - long distance + 888 line.

Qwest $305 for 5 lines and DSL
AT&T about $15 per month for 800 and long distance.

I'm so excited about Eagle's new upgrade to DSL.
I will be dropping 2 telephone lines, saving an additional $66.00 per month.
