should rename this "florist elbow"....an inflammation of the second joint in your lower arm, from smacking yourself, with your hand, for getting into this business, in the first place, and having to take it with endurance juice:beer

Seriously, sometimes it's as "minor" as an inflammation, or worn cartilage, but, every once in a while, it CAN manifest itself from a deep infection of the 3rd level skin tissues that envelope the fluid/cartilage sac that surrounds your joint. It's horrible when it swells up, gets red, hurts when you try to breathe, and hurts worse when your medical practitioner tells you to take 6 weeks off ...which form of fog do some of these people live in??

Tennis Elbow Ideas

Hey Goodie,
Hope you are feeling better. I had Tennis Elbow a while back and it is really aggravating. I got a brace for it - which was a pain in the (_l_) also - but it got better in about a month. I found the recommended treatments below on the web. Get Well Soon.

Treatment
  • Rest helps, with avoidance of the activities which over use the elbow.
  • Physiotherapy treatments, which may include heat or ultrasound therapy.
  • Use of anti inflammatory drugs and ordinary pain killers (analgesics).
  • Your doctor may suggest an injection of a small dose of steroid to the affected area. This is not the sort of steroid banned for athletes. If used it can last for up to three months, and although it may need to be repeated you seldom need more than two or possibly three injections.
  • You can buy a brace from a sports shop or pharmaceutical supplier, which can be helpful. This is probably largely because it reduces the amount you can use your elbow.
