Some time ago I noticed a sample termination letter posted on Flowerchat. I am wondering if someone could send me a copy or show me a link to it. Yes, I am getting out and none too soon. If I hadn't had my website linked and my accounting system relying on theirs I would have quit a long time ago. But never too late! I would rather walk on glass than continue being at the mercy of a business that is making it's shareholders happy and me a slave. Ten years ago, my husband said: Why on earth would you be partnered with a business, that is stealing yours. I am slow to listen to good advice.
Have a good one. Cheryal ([email protected])

hmm, I think I just deleted mine (kept it for two years in my puter) will double check though.
Mine was, can I say - tough? - listed out all the WS dirty deeds toward their member florists.

Floristware... I have the paid for disk sitting here.. and will get on it during the next month. Thank you.

Resigning is really pretty simple unless you still owe for a POS system.

Dear __________ (call & get the name of the correct person in the company),

Effective immediately, please discontinue our shop’s membership in ______ (wire service) and subscription to the ____________ (sending network).

Our code number is ______________.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

__________

Make sure to mail the letter with a return receipt or send it FedEx with signature required.

That's it.

They'll likely call and offer you freebies and incentives to stay, and will tell you your last day of membership if you don't take them up on an offer.

Like I said, it's pretty simple.

when ever I quit FTD, (which has been twice) I just Merc them a message saying I quit .... give them the, code number and say cya later. The Merc copy serves as the time stamp and documentation.

It usually takes about three weeks, before someone at HQ notices and and starts sweet talkin' you into staying.

I thought I read in another thread that when you drop the wire (can't remember which one it was), you are forbidden to send orders but are obligated to fill wire ins until the termination date. Is that true? What happens if you refuse the wire ins?

You (supposedly) agree to fill their orders until you are out of the book (if you go by the rules and regs, which they don't follow so why should you?). When the new directory arrives (or supposed to arrive) like April 1st, refuse to accept any more orders.
Actually, you can refuse to fill their orders when you receive the receipt return notice you put on the certified letter you sent to them.

And also, I noticed that they lengthened the time for the directory to be effective. (FTD maybe?) so that lengthens the time those who opt out to fill their orders.

They want to owe you money. If you send out orders and fill none, you owe them money.

By making the rules so that you fill orders but send out none, they owe you money.

Thats how they can deduct all kinds of silly fees from you because they are the ones holding your money hostage.

If you can't send, don't fill. PERIOD

PS if you clear your credit cards with them, get out of that first before you tell them you are leaving.

Sfox is spot on.

"PS if you clear your credit cards with them, get out of that first before you tell them you are leaving. "

The above advice is one of the best you will ever read here regarding WS termination.
