Tomorrow, I will be on KMOV-TV's Great Day St. Louis, which is a live locally produced program,on our CBS affiliate. I will be talking about and demonstrating how to make terrariums. I am by no means a terrarium expert, but, I could not pass up the advertising. Untill last week I had not made a terrarium since the 70's. I have been reading up and researching, so I do not appear as stupid as I will feel.

I have attached a picture of the terrariums I made and took with my blackberry. Wish me luck.

thanks to the big boxes showcasing succulents, terrariums are coming back in style in a big way!

Here's one I made a week or two ago. Going to start selling them again, as I got many positive comments on this when it was delivered as an office gift.

The plants were a bit too big, but had to use what we had that day as the customer said it was a must do for a b-day...it is also getting increasingly hard to find small plants locally! Also, finding large Brandy Snifters is a challenge as well. Will look towards large cylinders, etc...

Ps...

The customer was just pleased we would do it for her! She had called 4 other shops in Philly. 3 of them didn't even know what a terrarium was!

We now use this image in the store, when folks ask for them. Also, will be on the web site as soon as I can get a good stock of containers to use.

Those bell jars work well too. I bought some larger ones for table tops that we rent out. You can drop them on plants or flowers. We did a spring shower once that we made disks of wheat grass and dropped them in the middle with 2 live ducklings in each.

Ok THOM - YOU MUST share the logistic involved.....assuming no harm came to the duckings?

just caught a Martha segment on her gardens at her farm and in the background of the stage is a large glass footed bowl (accent decor, I think) with a succulent garden inside. Really nice....gotta get to Lowes again soon!!
