TF dove and Macro shortcuts

Today I received our dove update CD. After installing it, I clicked on maintenance on the home page. There is the macro tab that I wondered where it had gone months ago and no one seem to know what the heck I was talking about. I open it up to add/make macro shortcuts for flowerchat and florist detective. To my surprise they are already macro shortcut on this Dove CD, I did not create them nor did any one of my staff. FC is the macro for: For valuable information visit www.Flowerchat.com And FD: For valuable information visit www.floristdetective.com.

So I called TF and asked them to add these links to my site. After checking out both sites he said he would have to submit it for approval. Didn't some here post that TF let them add these links to their sites. If so please let me know, I have a feeling my request is not going to be approved. but, then again why would the create macros that they wouldn't want you to ever use.

We have a link to Florist Detective on the home page of our TF hosted site. Scroll to the bottom to view it.

Our alt text says "Florist Shopping Advice for Consumers". You may want to use that or request your own brief wording.

TF already has the logo so just tell them to copy it from our site - although you may want to have them reduce it. (It's a bit large IMO.)

We also have a link to our blog from the left navigation menu. I *think* they only decline links if visitors are taken to sites that also sell flowers or if the links would point to illegal or adult content. One could argue that it's ultimately up to you. It's your site. They are just the hosting company.

You probably were talking to someone that is not up to speed yet...they will add the FD logo and link...you might have to get rough with them:soapbox:

They'll also add a link for RealFlorist.com and I would imagine RealFlorists.info if you wish...I can provide those logos if the need arises....

Well after a 2 day wait to see if TF was going to approve this link, I got a call telling me that the supervisor has declined both of them. Neither fit their criteria, as they put it,and refused to add them.

I'm Livid!!

Once again, neither site you want to link to violates their TOS as far as I can tell.

PM me the name of the supervisor and I'll see what I can do.

Peter...Teleflora contacted me yesterday asking if I gave my permission to add these links and logos to your site, and I told them yes. (of course)

I was told yesterday afternoon that they were going to add them...gimme a little time and I'll see whats up...

I did not get the name of the supervisor that declined the links. Steve is who called me from TF.

Boss, Thanks for approving this, but I wonder if that was before or after their phone call to me. Anything you can do to help would be apprciated.
