Just got back from a TF design show in Boston. Great show and very entertaining. They made an announcement about their Save the Florist campaign and said they are NOT associated with Pro-flowers in any way and never have been, never will be. If that's true why didn't Nicole or someone from TF set us straight on FC? Just wondering if anyone knows the truth . The show was not well attended which is too bad because it's one of the few things I think TF does well.

The relationship between TF & PF was discussed at length in the Save The Florists thread.

TF does not have a DIRECT relationship with PF. PF has an affiliate relationship with From You Flowers of Old Saybrook CT to handle their same-day orders.

From You Flowers is a sending-florist-only member of TF and uses TF's product images on their PF-related site (which operates under the name FloristExpress).

Just enough distance to be able to claim plausible deny-ability. It plays well with the unconnected florist, that really has not got a clue.

Reminds me of Nixon... or Clinton... "I did not have sex with that woman". It's all in how you define it!

Ahh but that message came from Bob Hurley, he is just a Rep and reps have been telling us crap that isn't true for years....I can remember back in the 90's voicing my concern over sending only shops and being told that they have the same rules as us and that TF didn't allow shops to be sending only....we all know how untrue that was...

They may not be directly affiliated now, but trust me in the future they are getting us ready for something...you do not launch a campaign of that magnitude and hope that you sign on hundreds of florists to pay for it..They must have some sort of plan in order to pay for the expenditure way ahead of time, and it isn't we florists they are depending on to get their cash...

As my rep explained it to me, when pressed for the TRUTH. . . . . . "What I tell you, is always the 'truth'. . . . . . at the time I tell it"

Yea - like what the definition of "is" is...

Smoke and Mirrors... feel like I'm at a State Fair...

I had the same thoughts as......................

Mark and H from Philly Florist.

"I did not have S*X with that woman!" and "Can you define the meaning of IS?"

All I can add is PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY on the part of the REP.

Most of us FC'ers already know of the working relationship they have with PF, albeit through FROM YOU in Old Saybrook, CT.

Check out the reviews:

Two of the three reviews (and possibly the third, too) look to have been written by angry flower shops.

This collection of reviews (96 as of today) seems a more appropriate sampling. Do note that a significant number of the reviewers ultimately blame local florists.

'Tis better to refuse an undervalued order than to 'make do' and deliver sub-standard products half-heartedly.

Interesting that FU does seem to get mostly rave reviews via Google Checkout.
