Having just returned from an install, I saw first hand something that I thought wierd, and would like a little clarification on please. There has been in the past much discussion regarding the FTD Florist-On-Line (FOL) websites and the Teleflora hosted member sites, and I am not asking this to start another WS debate, however....

One of the shops I just installed Advantage in, has both the FTD version as well as the TF version, both seem to work equally well in this instance. One thing tho, struck me as odd.

The FOL generated orders come inn as incoming orders into Mercury, with all the consumer information as well as an UNapproved credit card.

The TF generated orders also come iin to the Dove with all the consumer data, HOWEVER in this case the CC is already processed and APPROVED...adn the approval is included with the order...seem'd ODD to me...that TF would be the one authorizing the credit cards.

I know someone will correct me if I am wrong, but it appears to me that TF is capturing all the consumer data and processing the card rather than passing it onto the florist like FTD does for the florist to process. (and lets not start the debate that FTD gathers the data too, because they don't on FOL orders!)

Are there different processing options for the TF websites? If so, I want to notify this customer of mine, to switch from having TF process her custommers cards.

Not trying to start a he said-she said-they said debate on the merrits of either company, just wanting to understand the processing...

Thanks, and Happy Fourth!!!

Boss,

I can only speak for installs I've done ... and the web orders come into the shop through dove, UNAPPROVED. The card must be processed by the flower shop.

This customer said, that she gets the $$ on here TF statement????

I'm wondering "if" she is? Could this Approval # be something else?

Wondering if she should be processing these cards?

Maybe best for her to get clarification from TF...??

Is TF her processor? Make any difference? She give them approval to do so?

Teleflora-hosted sites have the option of choosing to have Teleflora clear tha cards immediately or process the cards in-house. We choose to do the later because changes to purchases are much easier.

The owner just needs to inform Teleflora that she wishes to process them herself.

Thanks, thats what I needed to know... IMHO and hers, she should be the one clearing the CCs...

Will let her know...thanks MUCH !

See, TF WAS her processor in these cases! (And she has FTD in house as well.) Wonder what TF charged her for this "service"?

I just dropped my website with TF, and the fact that TF was processing the cc from that website was one (only one) of the reasons for getting another site. It was only when I told this to TF that they told me that the cc did not have to be processed by them. (They do not process my regular cc) I had called on several occasions to ask about this, and eventhough I cannot remember the exact words, I was certainly led to believe that TF would have to process the cc that came through that website.

When we discontinued having TF process our credit cards it took several months and several phone calls/e-mails to get them to stop processing web/cc orders. Of course all the time we had to pay their fees. It was so ridiculous to pay 20.00 cc processing for a 35.00 order- very frustrating, but finally got done. :treadonme
