Just a kudo or two to the Knot...

Two brides booked today, both had pages torn out of the Knot's Mag....

Kewl designs of light and hot pink mini gerbs, sprays and bear grass for one, hydrangia, roses, mini gerbs and lizi for the other all primary colors...

Good job, and thanks....

So do you advertise in the Knot?

We do $0 advertising for wedding biz, and for June that has been the only area we have increased (and some other recent months). Plus the wedding have been very simple low labor weddings, but good money (bouquets/personal flowers mostly). I like those weddings best. You can have 5 or six in one weekend but still get them done in a couple hours or less. No need to set up/take down, can just send a driver to deliver one stop, maybe two stops if you have some church items too. Plus the consults tend to go way quicker.

Nope.... our wedding biz comes from WOM only....

And I know what you mean, we have 4 this weekend... 1-$500.00 pick up, 2 at about $1500.00 and 1 over $4K....

Glad I have this weekend off!! LOL... seriously I do....

last week I had bride bring me a pic from Bloomery! I love when they bring pics :)

I wish we got more wedding work! Around here decorators do all the centerpieces when they set up their tablecloths, chair covers, etc. We get personal flowers only. We have never had a wedding with center pieces. It's very sad. My average wedding is six hundred dollars.

That's too bad....hope that trend doesn't come here.

I'd prefer doing the centerpiece part over the personals if I could only do half the order. Oooh! then it would be like a corporate event - love those!

Wish more brides would come in with photos in hand...otherwise I spend a lot of time waiting while they flip through books and albums...

If I book a consultation, I always ask if they have looked through the books, if they haven't I give them time to do that on their own, I don't want to wait and they don't feel hurried. Most of our weddings are personal flowers only any more, I'm liking doing the bouquets more than I used to, getting to be fewer and fewer corsages as the gals look at ways to cut back.
