Ok, my friends here is my news. After 5 years I am closing the shop this friday the 13th. It has been an incredible 5 years of hopes and dreams, interesting times, good times and several not so good ones. I haven't drawn a paycheck in 5 years, worked unbeliveable hours and have learned more than I ever thought possible. Love the creative end of the business, love the people (yeah even the crazy ones) and of course have made some first class friend on FC.

Still having a going out of business sale and pulling down the shop is quite a job, but we will be out of our space by the end of the month.

I picked up my bike 2 weeks ago ( been taking lessons since February, the only grey haired granny type in the class) and hope to ride off into the sunset without bodily harm to enjoy my next adventure. Never thought I'd be having retirement via motorcycle!! Amazing the twists and turn life takes! Good luck to all of you in your endeavors, I have been blessed to share the journey with you and I am grateful!

I'm so sorry to hear this story, however I do understand.
Maybe Sher will let you play in her store at holiday times.
Hard to let our dream go.

Oh Lorrie! I'm sorry for your decision, as this industry needs people with heart and integrity, like you. But I do understand, and know that you will have even better opportunities to come, because of your heart and integrity. Best of everything to you, always. And keep checking in sometimes!

C'mon up to Jersey - we have some of the best biking roads - beautiful twisty country roads, away from the hub-bub.

Best of luck Lorrie. Sorry that one of my "northern" contacts will be gone. But, what a great day to do the closing!

When you are biking down to the Keys, stop in to Blooming Gardens. Would love to meet you in person!!....

You've added so much to this board and you'll be greatly missed. Put a saddlebag on that bike and carry along a laptop computer. You can be our florist-on-assignment...report back to us about all the flower shops you find in your travels.

Though it MAY have been a decision that was either very difficult, or reasonably easy to make, the time you spent in the biz, and here at FlowerChat, was NOT wasted, and Sandie wishes you all your dreams come true!!
I, on the other hand, wish you COULD have continued on, and admire your ability to make this tough change in your life!!
