Ok, so I have been confused for a long time now about this one.

8 years ago or so, I would have sworn that LOL meant, "Lots of Love".
(Saw it on an Floral Card Acronym sheet at the store today)

Now, enter Chatting, SMS, Messenger etc. and LOL means. "Laugh Out Loud".

Who made that change, and why wasn't I told? :hammer:

Are we still able to use LOL as "Lots of Love", or are we confusing people?

(Or am I out to lunch... again.)

Duane,

I think most of us think of it as "laughing out loud".

Good question! I write L O L for my florist shorthand when writing orders (though I'm "writing" orders less and less nowadays ;) ).... but in internet world, I have always thought of L O L as lol. Funny how we train our minds, or how someone trains them for us.

I've been online since 1993, and I always used it as: laugh out loud.
