Some have called and said they made a killing.
Some say that it was flat.
Still others have record losses.

Guess it all came down to who and where you were.

We survived, based on our massive downscale, but several alliances burned their bridges forever.

Happy with the work, the efforts, the customers, overall.
WS can.................................... ! ( Fill in the blanks )

Our numbers suck, compared with past years, but many factors played a part.
I'm not miserable, because I set the stage.

Truly hope that all of you kicked butt.

Kevin

Missed you all !

Never mistake gross for net - and I know you won't. If the planned downsizing was to eliminate 'bizziwork', then way-to-go.

"Make customers not orders". The trademark goes to RC. :)

It was, and then some.

Kudos to RC on that one !

Thanks for bringing that back up !

Overall I was up, way up on all local monies...a very profitable holiday for me...

I was down by 26% on wireins, but overall it made for a less stressful holiday...

I saw many, many new faces from 2 churches that I acquired this last year and got many compliments on my flowers from them...I think I won over many new customers...

Prom went well, all the kids were happy with their corsages and bouts...I did the holiday mostly by myself..I had help for wed and thurs...and two drivers fri and sat...Friday I answered phones and dealt with customers and prom pick ups all day and started on Saturdays work at 5pm, I had 50 orders to do and made it through, I was home by 9:45..and back in the shop by 7am the next morning to do another 10 orders that came in...

Saturday the walk in was incredible..I was thrilled and delighted, I was busy until 6pm...If I could be half as busy as this daily, I would not be so bored and want to keep my shop...The people just made my days great and made me realize that this is whgat I love aboput my job, the people...I just wish there were more of them everyday to get me out of the slump...

We were so incredibly busy with prom and a larger MD that I can remember (for both the prom and MD). I had to call in 2 additional drivers and a couple of extra helpers for the retail part of the shop. We had a line of customers several times, and we had 2 cash registers going with 4 ladies helping the customers. This was just for Fri. & Sat. Two additional designers were added for Wed., Thurs., and Fri.

We had mostly laughter and smiles among the customers, but there were a couple (maybe 3) of stinkers, one of whom I should have simply escorted from the shop, but that's another story.

I'll be looking at figures this morning.

I wonder and worry about some of those who "made a killing." I read some posts here on FC from florists saying they got a ton of incoming wire orders, but they were not sending shops, and had few orders to send thru w/s for Mother's Week.

Wait 'til they get their next statement and see the whopping low send and reciprocity fees...on top of the 71 or 73% discount they take plus all the other fees and dues.

I feel very, very bad for them when their expectations don't come to fruition.
