Sorry I am straight out and do not have time to search for another post that might contain this info.

Just opened my e-mail from TF and lo and behold they would like me to start selling 'their' gift baskets.

However the gift basket line is called Gift Tree - This is 1-800's gift basket line, I am certain of this as I was courted by them in e-mails for months when 1-800 was alive on their own.

I shudder to think what all of this really means.

I just wanted to provide you all with the info.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

well tell us more!

The connection between TF and 1-800 occured way back when TF had us testing their new system. Thats about 2 years ago.

Apparently 1-800 had the system technology that TF could not figure out, remember you had to have a dedicated phone line and install a new and specific voice recognition board into your computer for TF orders?. Then they secured the new system, and suddenly 1-800 was sending their orders over the TF network. ( reason- 1800 didn't have the membership numbers TF had, so word is they made a deal) Thus TF is promoting 1800 product.

Why I got out of all of them. Like sleeping with the devil.

It might make some sense down the road *if* the big boys end up banding together, but I don't think we'll see too much of it, as they are all out for themselves. None of them want to help each other out.

That said however, they also want the volume each one can send to the other, when coverage becomes an issue. We all know, coverage is starting to change again, like it did when Norton was at the helm of FTD, now days though it's based on economy and the fact that consumers are becoming educated and going direct.

Remember... the bigger they are...the harder they fall... but also the harder they fight to remain...they have no *local* business to rely on like we do, and while sales numbers may be dropping everywhere, at least I know I can survive on local business alone, all be it at a lower volume, but that's OK it's all 100% sales.
