If you care to test your flower forecasting skills, I have a little poll up on my blog to see what everyone thinks Kate Middleton will be carrying when she marries Prince William!

Who else, besides me, is going to be up at the crack of way too early (or up way too late for those in other time zones) to watch the wedding?

I think I'm going go nutty and "Live Facebook" it. I was worried about clogging up folks' news feeds, but it's so early I think it will be just me and a couple other crazies LOL!

Local newspaper asked if anyone having a party, so I jumped on the band wagon and said "yes". Regreting that now (big prom this weekend). Trying to gather a little PR in paper and inviting some customers. Right now we have 2 rsvp (me) and wife (put "maybe".) Not going to be a big one.................

White roses and hydrageas..............??

There's going to be so much coverage of this thing that I know I will be in danger of drowning from it, so I'm going to try to avoid the excesses as much as possible. I hope you guys have fun.

I have an order for a "Royal Wedding" dinner party, all white. I can't remember who, I think FSN, is having a contest where people can post a picture of the bouquet they think Kate will carry.

I understand what this wedding means to our industry. Weirdly, (to me), what Kate carries will influence brides in North America. I hope she carries a full cascade, but I'm doubting it. I think it will be a gathered bouquet in all of the colors and will include blue thistle, daffodils, roses, etc. But of course I have no idea. I think she is an independent thinker though, so she isn't likely to be bullied by planners. If she would carry something really complicated, there will be no DIY!

I've been saying white phal all along. That is my guess- and I'm sticking to it.

But I wish she were carrying a bouquet of all lily of the valley. Very Delicate!

I came across this graphic that illustrates the price tags for the average US wedding, Chelsea Clinton's wedding, and Prince William's.

They've got the flower budget for Kate and William at $800,000. Modest.

Whoops - graphic is gone - sorry!

I am so wrapped up in the Royal Wedding and yes I will be up at 2am on Friday to watch the coverage.

I think it will be a all white teardrop of David Austin's Patience garden roses, phales, steph, lily of the valley with very minimal greens

OMG- mountain time has to get up at 2am- yuck forget it...I don't even think I'd get up at 2am for my own dang wedding! Kind of sort of wish I had a DVR again. Oh well- such is life.

Guess what I do have though? a commemorative coin from when Charles and Di got married. I'm hoping my life long pen pal (who actaully I've met and he came to my wedding visited me in NM, etc..) will send me the new one!!

I'm doing a flower project with a neighboring biz Friday about the Royal Wedding and they are great at getting news coverage so I am hopeful I'll get some good press. Still haven't practiced the glittered carns, but I do my best work under pressure, LOL. The other store asked me if I could bring some of the flowers in Kate's bouquet to show and I explained that by the time I know what they are I probably won't be able to get them. But now maybe I'll get up early and check Sprouts FB , run to the market early and see if I can get atleast a few of the flowers in her bouquet. Just incase there is new coverage of our event I want to be news worthy! My guess is cotton candy mini callas, white lily of the valley, and phaelonopsis cascading to her knees, but in a more delicate design than Di's.

Info about the florist is out.

Prince William and Miss Middleton have chosen London-based floral designer Shane Connolly to create the floral displays for their wedding on April 29th. Mr. Connolly has directed a team of florists, including Westminster Abbey's and Buckingham Palace's florists, and florists individually chosen by the Couple, to create the floral displays at the Abbey and for Buckingham Palace.

Mr. Connolly was chosen by the Couple owing to his reputation for producing elegant and unique displays, and for his creative approach which focuses on using seasonal, natural and organic flowers. Mr. Connolly is also well known for his sustainable approach to floristry, which incorporates as much as possible the use of growing, rather than cut, plants and trees.

This wedding will be a real game changer, for sure. Lots of trees and plants planned for the decor - to be eco-friendly.

Rev up the blooming plants and plant rentals. (Definitely not the direction I'd hoped, but it is what it is and we better embrace it.)

I will be attending a royal wedding cocktail party firday night at my friend's house....Formal dress is suggested...I may make a fascinator hat...not sure yet..Sunday is my birthday so I have asked my husband to bring along a cake, maybe we will make it kind of weddingish...fun stuff. We always do these kind of themed parties...so much fun..I really think we should all be getting with the green movement and sustainable Earth thing...it is in the cards that that is the way the public will be going..We don't want to be sitting here 10 years from now on the back edge of this not even knowing what is green and what is available for sustainable products, kind of like what we did with websites and internet stuff...ugh~!
