I have known, died last night after a long struggle with one of the ugliest cancers I have witnessed, finally together with her whole family at her side!
Fani (Stephanie) Alabakopoulos devoted mom, wife of Jim, and proud owner of Flowers by Sally in Hamilton for over 20 years, was one of our greatest friends, one of our compassionate inspirations, and an absolutely unselfish human being...something that many people "aspire" to during a lifetime, she acheived naturally! All she accomplished was give of herself, 100 % of the time, all that she had....it broke my heart..that at 50, such a talented florist, such a dedicated mom, with the problems that she faced, NEVER thought of herself...only of others...I still cannot believe she is gone...I cannot believe she is gone!
Sandie and I have lost a true friend...such a friend does not come along every day, and for many, once in a lifetime!:purpletea
 
Terrible news, especially at this time of year, to have our industry, and your community, lose such a shining light.

My prayers are with the family

I really don't care what time of year it is, it is always sad to hear of the passing of someone dear to us. Sure it is more noticeable durinfg this time and the family will always think of her at this time of year.
I met Stephanie when Mikey introdduced me to the family and saw Angela a few times. You know you are "welcome" on how they welcome you and that is how I felt when I was first inroduced to the family.
Mikey knows the family more and I know the AREA SHOPS will help out the family in some ways to eliviate some of the hectic Christmas rush the shop is having so they can celebrate thelife of Stephanie.
My heartfelt prayers are with angela and Family, and Also to Mikey and Sandie to loose such a dear friend.
That is what Real florist have in common....Being United....NO ONE ELSE can do this for us. Real Florist= A FAMILY OF FRIENDS.

Ah but she is not gone and never will be as long as you remember.

I put a single white rose on the counter, in her memory today, it will stay thru Christmas Eve...so that I remember too...

the funeral directors have now admitted...

that this is THE MOST flowers they have EVER seen for a person at their funeral home...one was quipping that this reminded him of the 70's, at another place in Toronto!!
My father has always said, "you DON'T KNOW how well you are liked, until it's too late!!"
Obviously Stephanie has her own place in this world...maybe one day, IF I'm really, really good.......

it was so sad, so sad,

even the priest was crying...in his words,"I gained much hope and belief from Fani...when I needed someone to turn to, I would turn to her"!
Everyone was so very upset.........I cannot find the words....
