To all you stateside!!

Please ignore my ignorance, but whereabouts in America would have warm weather in November, December, Jan, Feb and March. My Mum and her partner are thinking of buying a holiday home and i am trying to get them to go to America but they say they want the warmth. They are currently thinking of Natal in Brazil but i am trying to talk them out of it. (All selfish reasons on my part i have to say.)

Any ideas??
 
:) Florida, the Gulf Coast, Arizona, Nevada.

From what I'm told the real estate prices are very reasonable at this time. Personally, buying in Brazil (why) would have more disadvantages than not. Either way, make sure they do their homework on buying in a foreign land.

mmm Sher this is what i thought. I would love to spend January in Florida which is my intention when this holiday home is bought lol. How hot are we talking then?? I need facts and figures to present my case.

I have to say i dont think i will win in my quest as i think this place in Brazil is calling them but you never know?
 
Thanks V, they already live in Spain anyway so have bought abroad before and have properties in the Channel Isles, they are ok on that front i think but thanks really. I think this place in Brazil is supposed to be up and coming. It is the weather thing really and they want to get there in 8 hours.

Not hot until July,then can go up to the 90's..but one visit and you do get use to it..all the malls are ac'd, etc...are they looking for house, condo, waterfront, pool, two story, one story, near good infrastructure, near night life, more quiet residential where all the neighbors have that funny accent that you have...lol? Remind them if they buy an existing viable business, they get "papers" and cannot be sent back...ever! ..It is safer here I think........hey I can get them a darn good deal on a prosperous flower shop from an owner who wants to travel with the Grandkids ...lol
Let me know..we have some ultra cool areas that you can walk to everything or we have areas that a boat is easy to live on, or you can live out west and have land and still be at the beach in 30 mins...yes we have the occasional hurricane but have days to prepare...and we do prepare ...unlike our neighbors to the west of us in La...or at least in NO .
Again, let me know if you need some more info. I'm thinking a trial run to Fla is in order so you and your children have the 'right" ammuition to present your case...
 
Oh Sher we are bringing the kids in the next two years over there, my hubby is desperate. I have been over there when i was 14, loved it loved it loved it. Also been to LA and Las Vegas. I love America and would move there tomorrow. You never know.. If that lottery ticket comes in.

Dont think i could tempt them with that flower shop, they see what i have to do with mine lol. They like to take life easy grrrrrrr and we all know that flowers and taking it easy in the same sentence is just a lie. But, now Tom does like his boats and fishing, i think maybe along those lines would be good.

Thanks for your advice though, I think it would have to be very warm before they consider it, they want somewhere for the Winter.:yourock:

I have a Big Empty house..let me know when you are coming! We can sit by the pool, go down the street and ride horses, shop at sawgrass mills and spend all of hubbys money, run over to the beach and let the kids play in the sand and taste saltwater, swing by one of four casinos and then throw down some fresh fish on the barby!
Thats the first day! Just give me a heads up when you are coming!

Very tempted...holding off for another month....but there are some awesome deals here...house down the street on an acre, 3/2 sold for 200 in foreclosure...only one around here that was foreclosed... was bought the year before for 475, 000....so it is tempting but I am looking to scale down so kinda sniffing out some townhouses around 3500 sq feet with a private pool...gated so I can leave and travel when I want. You interested in me keeping an eye out?

The best place in the whole world to live as far as I can see,weather wise anyway, with a beach, is San Diego CA. However santa ana winds do kinda suck. Wild fires you know.
Beautiful!!, and not hot as hades in the summer. Beautiful all the time. Except for the wildfires....

The place I've lived that has great seasons, no tornados, no hurricanes, no wildfires (as of yet), no avalanches, no earthquakes, and beautiful seasons...
not too hot in the summer, not too cold in the winter, beautiful spring and fall, is Farmington, New Mexico.
It would be perfect, weather wise, if it had the pacific ocean next to it!!

Boy Sher... I don't have kids, knee says I can't ride anymore, don't have enough money of my own to shop, but boy oh boy, the rest sounds really appealing (not much of a casino soul either).

Now we have those loonies from the Uk wanting to immigrate or is it migrate...lol...this could be like the United World of Real Florist Convention...I just need Hero to join us to add to the radicalism of the group and maybe Toto, and Mac...and .....and....and maybe we can drag Da Skin out of retirement! And Xavier altho I did see him here posting under his real name..can you believe it...his real name..oh and we have to get Kevinski and his wifey...oh lord I need a bigger house! lol
But NO KATZ...Unless someone will hold his head under for an hour in the pool! Maybe JoeM will help me....

Sher, it's all i can do to stop myself from booking the flights today lol. That sounds great. Might go and buy a few extra lottery tickets though.

Part of my cunning plan is to get my mum to buy out there and then get my hubby to fall in love with the place and then just move. ahhh cunning ah??
 
Sher... what a crowd. Florida would never be the same!

Palms... Port Charlotte is lovely too (on the Gulf side).
