Cripes , how much more powerful can they get, picked up Robert Lang on the weekend for next to nothing and he singlehandedly beat Philly last night. Wonder what defenseman they will acquire this week to bolster their aged blueline. Must be nice to have all the money to throw around, although Washington is this years bargian basement, Jagr, Bondra, Lang gone in a week , only leaves Kolzig and Gonchar with any value on that sad team.

Sunny, yes there are deep pockets in the Wings these days.
With this town having to put up with a Baseball team and a Football team with new stadiums (thats the highlight of those losers) LOL They(da Wings) can spend all the money they want..they sell out all the time and fans don't mind or seem to care how much a ticket cost.
Also with two goalies sitting on the side with injuries we need all the Scoring we can get!.

Gonchar is now property of the Bruins, big deal for Toronto , getting Leetch from the Rangers, and a floater who has never lived up to his billing Petr Nedved going to the Oilers. By the time the Rangers finish cleaning house , I wonder where Lindros is heading , speculation is Montreal , Toronto or L A, rumour has it he can be got for a 3rd or 4th round pick, a good price if he can come back from his latest glass chin incident and help for a run in the playoffs.
I'd give the Rangers a pick just to keep him. I sure as heck don't want that mope on Toronto.
Really happy with the Leetch deal! Excellent leadership and still great skills - he'll be a big boost to our blue line.

Character guys like them are hard to replace without upsetting the chemistry on the team, though you would think with all the high priced talent on the Wings , they should be able to carry on. The rumour mill still says that they are trying to pickup a quality defenceman and maybe even some goaltending insurance , especially since Hasek has gone home and Cujo is out for a while yet. Wonder what could happen if Legace gets hurt?

Didn't Leetch, Gonchar and Nedved make their new GM's look like brilliant hockey minds with their first games in their new surroundings. Wonder if they can keep up their enthusiasm for the next couple of months, but leaving the Rangers or the Caps would make anyone deliriously happy for a while eh? Stay tuned more big moves coming in the next couple of days.
