Fly Fishing and Fly Tying have always been a huge part of my life. I didn't realize until my own wedding that some truly unique pieces can be made at the fly tying bench. I love nothing more than seeing my pieces in other people's photos, the photos that they'll look at for years to come.

I just thought I'd add some more info. I had to really convince my wife to let me have a crack at tying up my own boutonnieres, and ended up with this.

Fortunately, they were a hit and I've since tied them up for friends and people that have seen them online. I've also tied up some traditional flies for people that wanted something unique in lieu of the traditional boutonnieres. Often that means taking a classic pattern and incorporating wedding colors. These are perfect for the any fly fisherman (or non-fly fisherman) that might be making their way up the aisle. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Welcome to flowerchat.

So, uhm......do you create flies that are floral-specific? Would LOVE to see some pix of your wedding if you incorporated them in the flowers.

Whoops! I see you and I must have been posting at the same time. Cool.

Hey Linda,

Yup, those are one example of what I do. I've tied those for a couple of people since. I didn't think anything of it when I made them for my wedding until I realized that all of my groomsmen had them on display to some capacity in their homes. The actual one that I wore is sitting in a shadow box on my desk.

Pretty slick... welcome to FlowerChat...

I'm assuming... that this is a side gig that may be available for purchase for weddings across North America?

I have actually used "flies" in bouts for weddings.
When I lived in the 'four corners' there is some of the best fly fishing in the world there. The San Juan River is famous for it's 'Quaility Waters'.
I bet Mr. Trout has even fished there too!

No big need for flies in ABQ- But if I'm ever in the need- I know who to call.
