Hey everybody...
We have had one heck of a week...and the next few days are going to be a bit wild.
My little mighty-mouse boss just lost her mom on thurs.... Am now swamped with orders for funeral flowers and tis just moi making it all "go"!.............
My quandry is this,,,as the lovely lady was dutch, one of the family pces is going to be just tulips...and I DO mean just tulips......I have aprox 200 stems to use for this piece and have a vision in mind,,,,my only drama is I must have all family pces del. the evening before svce and am freaking that the tulips are going to "go in there own directions" ........................AAAAAGGGHHH!!

My main thoughts are....keep them in nice and deep so they won't straggle about and a big container(basket)that will hold tons of h2o
..........................................................

Any tips..thoughts....out there???????????????????
I'd really appreciate anything that comes to mind!

I am not doing an arr, that if they DO move a bit will be a bad thing but I am a bit freaked that I will arrive for the service and have a lovely pce of work gone all awry ,,,,,Korrie was a very cool lady, her daughter is my boss and there are NO try overs with this...I really want it to be spectacular for the family...

(my only other option is to arrive WAY early at the FH and re-jigg as needed),,,hmmmmm not what I'd like to see happen here.

OK....crowning glory???
dark room for overnight???
The f-director is VERY accomodating and understands where I am coming from..(so far anyway)

PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wait with bated breath..........any tips or tricks will make my day....
Thanks in advance...sorry for being long-winded!

So sorry to hear about your boss' mom.

I would talk to the FD and see if you can't put them in a dark room for the night. It's the light that makes tulips dance around and if there is no light, they will behave :)

Best of Luck, It will be fine and beautiful!!

Thanks .....my brain is dancing....almost 20 other pces to do but this is the only one giving me the willys....
sat will be an all coffe day!!

One of the best tips I ever received when designing with tulips:

Tulips will grow approximately 6" when cut and placed in an arrangement. Just keep this in mind with your design and you should be fine!

I've never done this but would placing the tulip stem into a shortened gerbers straw help to control some of them? Just a thought.
Tulips are lovely but they definately have a mind of their own...good luck and let us know what ends up working the best for you!
