fudge(you know what word i am really saying here )TF....i dont like a lot of what they are doing now , but was just praising the web services!

ill say it again fudge TF, they are pigs! does that convince you that i am not a cheerleader!

i would love to drop their asssses but im held hostage right now with eagle payments for 3 more years, and dove, cc processing etc.....

so i would love to not pay $2 for every order that comes over internet, but right now i'm stuck with it!

so, puppetmaster, what do i have to do to convince you im not lying?

i have to run out to a meeting right now but i will post my user traffic later today, but i still will remain anonymous bcuz i dont want to be known bcuz my local competitors will steal my ideas!

The above was a clip from the other board... This is the reason why we stress independancy. TECHNOLOGY JAIL !!!! They don't tell you everything up front you always find out later. Read the fine print, when they offer you free, its not free you pay more for everything else with no alternatives. So now who(florists) would let a company develop and store their data that competes with them.
Food for thought...
Hal

Teleflora started selling directly to the public a 2-3 years ago. FTD started earlier.
THERE IS NO EXCUSE today for any florist to be in bed with TF or FTD unless you are stupid and a chump.
3 years is plenty time to get rid of any lease, stop supporting the competition that is robbing you. The only reason to have a WS is to send out orders if you have more than 10-20 per month. If you have a WS to receive orders, you are falling into the trap.
The complaining florist has NOBODY to blame but himself/herself. He got what he deserved. Why would you trust someone who is going after your customers and encouraging OGs.
Anyone florist in 2005 using WS products or services besides sending out orders is 'AN IDIOT'. Blunt and crude, but true. Do not buy their codified products, flowers, do not do CC, POS, mailing/advertizing material, do not fill their direct orders, do not accept nonsense misc. monthly charges, and be ready to quit at a months notice. Thats how you treat them, because the WS honestly think they can get away by treating you like crap.

IF JH started selling flowers tomorrow, you will be an idiot to do business with them. There are other options.......MAS, FS, Visual Ticket etc.

I hope anybody reading this and using any WS POS product, will get smart and switch out.

Careful.... I have seen JH containers at grocery stores & dollar stores & even a balloon wholesaler! That's why we now buy from somewhere else. We pay more because we are now buying upgraded containers, that I haven't seen elsewhere..... yet.

Buying codified products or JH containers is silly and harmful to your bottom line.
You can go to to the local wholesalers and get decent containers. Why promote other people products. For example for Valentines TF and FTD promote crystal or red vases and buying it for $10.00 makes no sense when you have to take it out of the price of the roses.
A dozen roses look just as pretty in a clear C905 from Brody than in any other vase. And C-905s are only $1.85 each.

Be VERY careful...
We blow through TONS of w/s product during the holidaze. With careful buying, correct staffing, and prep work, you can make money on the specials. In my area(S) - we have both suburban and urban - we get the requests for the product! You cannot compare a crystal vase to a generic glass vase. Customers in my area will dish out the extra $35-$50 for that crystal!
Yes, we would LOVE to sell them something "home made" - and a lot of times we do!
Our wire out volume is too high to do without the w/s guys - period.....
We like our technology...satisfied with our credit card rates - in fact I have yet to find better (given the BIG picture of the %'s and rebates...). Get banks, 3rd party vendors stopping by every month trying to get our c-card biz...cannot compete with Cash-Flo....

Yes, I do not like the games being played by the Big 2. Each has their own just plain DUMB things going on. But, hey...do what you will to voice your displeasures. With us, we did it by not sending TEL when they initiated their "Dropping Mercury" threat. Oh, you STILL can send TEL orders over Mercury, and they ARE reported....so we send our min # a month and that's it.

Respect your post, but no need for insults there Zed....(stupid, chump.......)

Well, put all your eggs in the FTD basket, and when they pull the rug from under you, the song will be sung to the tune similar to the original quoted rant.
Can yuo really afford not to be independent?

I really don't think that will happen, Zed!

FTD *must* have a solid florist base to operate. Without the florist, there is no FTD.

But I understand your point! We have NOT put our eggs in one basket. Yes, our tech. is with FTD - but that can change in a MAS-FAS heartbeat! :)
Yes, we sell FTD product - but we sell TEL too!!!
Trust me...there is a lot of fustration over here in Philly with BOTH parties....that is why Bloomnet is gung ho over here, signing up people faster than you can say Jim McCann!

Lots of baskets out there...
