Well...I'll do just that! Thanx for the memo! The journalist I'm going out with this weekend is a former Marine! What a great reason to sneak an extra smooch in!

On a more serious and personal note...every day is Memorial Day in my heart. I will pause in loving remembrance of my beloved father who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. I will pause in remembrance of all the courageous men and women who have given their lives for our freedom.

I was at the cemetary taking my little boy to talk to his grandparents (my Mom and Dad) and the flags are everywhere.

Somehow I just know that Mom and Dad Smile when we come up there to visit.

the veteran's wall with my Dad's name is nearly full now, and 8 years ago he was in the third row.

I sorely hope those are old veterans and not young ones.

My daughter is a Marine and I would Love to hug her, but she doesn't get to come home this weekend, she has duty. Maybe I can go see her soon. A huge Thank You to all our Veterans.

Ooh Rah to you Sophie for being a proud Marine Mama!!

I will be honoring my husband, my father, my brother, my deceased uncles and many friends. Fortunately, we've been blessed to not have any of our friends pass away from this war. We had a very close call but he is doing great today and still proudly serving beside his brothers in the Corps!

It's not about just burgers and beer for me this weekend!
