Wowsers. From the "song diary":

She was so precious and just sang her little heart out. Later, her dad told me that for the first few days after I’d sent him the song to have her learn, she couldn’t sing it because she would break down crying every time. I asked him why. He said it was because it hurt her to know that some other little girl was without her daddy at Christmas.
