Those ribbon cardboard thingies

Every time I finish off a roll of ribbon I throw away the tube cardboard thingy. Is there any useful purpose for those things that I am not aware of? It's the earth mother in me wanting to recycle.

I was in a hands on class a number of years ago where we learned to double the cardboard, enlarge the middle hole slightly, wrap ribbon around and around (from the middle, over the top, around the bottom and back up through the hole) until it was completely covered. We embellished this backing with beads, ribbons, and such then created a hand tied bouquet that was thread through the center.

I'm wondering what else people will come up with.

We use them alot at christmas spray them green and glue leaves on top put over a candle stick and put a candle thru into the candle stick and then glue christmas trim to them

The round circle on top can also be used to make composite flowers, see JTV for instructions.

Bouquet Collars

I've attached a picture of two bouquet collars I made for a Bridal Show.
They are easy to make, on the white and silver collar I used fabric glue because it dries clear and sticks as well Oasis floral adhesive.
