I'm feeling a bit helpless today... have some friends that lost everything last night. Wish I could go help, but can't.

Just want to send prayers and blessings to everyone affected by the twisters yesterday. It's amazing to think that a normal April sees about 100 tornado's, and so far there have been over 800 with a few days left in the month, and May is the peak month...

I'll pledge money if someone wants to start an account for florists that we're damaged. There's enough of us on Chat to make a difference, I think. or, in Florida we also have bought supplies and send it to damaged florist.

Mark, my prayers go to them all but especially your friends, I do hope nobody suffered bodily injury?

Rick, what a great idea. Maybe call a bank down there to set it up? Do you know a florist in particular? I will pledge money to help a florist.

Ah, God, and probably more of the same today. I was just talking to somebody in Florida yesterday. I complained about how cold it is here, (just hovering above freezing), and she said they were at 90, about 10 degrees warmer than it should be. I made the comment that I'd hate to be where those two temperature extremes clash, but I guess we know where it's happening.

No I don't know anyone in particular......buddy up there who says they got their butts kicked. Same line headed for us this afternoon 3 -5. Yesterday was 94 here.................like walking out into an oven. Maybe someone close to them want to lead....

My daughter lives in Tuscaloosa, their home was damaged and 2 trees got their vehicle. She is still very thankful that she and
her family were safe in a closet as the storm literally shook their house. Her in laws and brother in law have a florist there in
Tuscaloosa. The shop itself was undamaged but was without electricity for a couple of days. In the last year or so they had fortunatey moved the shop to a new location. The property at the prior location was completely wiped out. I have wondered but not discussed with my daughter how the terrible devastation will affect their ability to do business.

I doubt there will be much everyday and Mothers Week work, but sadly there will be much sympathy work to do.

Truly a sad state of affairs.

I'd like to ask, where is all the help, that our friends down in the States, could use right about now.....
Funny how the world turns to the folks of the US when THEY are in need of help......

We could have cried yesterday. One of the girls took an out going order to Alabama yesterday, a small town we hadn't heard of, so it didn't register that it might have been in the disaster area.
When John called the order out - it was a funeral order - the florist told him it would have to be either a plant or silk arrangement, without thinking John asked why. The florist told him they've been without power all this time, so no fresh, and they had been working all day on whatever funeral pieces they could do, for funeral of a family of five. The whole family had died. God bless them all....
