Ok,
So here's the drama....
We inherited a mother's day wedding.. holy moly..
more drama... the bride has a very limited budget, $700.
more drama... bride is MY HUSBAND'S cousin...she decided to go with the "other" florist because they were cheaper. She wants Blue hydrangea, lily of the valley, gardenias in her bouquet alone. That sort of arrangement would cost around $300 here. I also told them that lily of the valley doesn't fair so well here in Durango, and gardenias are even worse, She wanted handtied with stems exposed.... Tried to explain that all the flowers in that will melt down and quickly.
more drama....The old owner of Aprils quoted....get ready......$95....more holy moly...and also said she'd do those flowers, no problem.
I have removed myself from the situation, Amy and I both agree it's best.
So here's my question:
Are lily of the valley any hardier than they used to be? How about gardenias? I have avoided using them for years. Not since my Oklahoma days....
If you arrid area florist DO use them what do you do to process them?
How well do they hold up?
As Connie said a couple of days ago I should write a book.
Drama drama drama
Any advice would be helpful.
