Best wishes for a very happy Mothers Day!!

I hope you all get the day off!!! ;)

Thank you Mark. It will be my first Mother's Day off in over 20 years. I was to spend it with Miss Alana... sadly she now has to work. :(

However, I'll enjoy the peace of the day.

Thanks Mark, but I'll be working. We just couldn't service all of our customers today........so back in the a.m. to finish about 30 more up and deliver them. But my darling granddaughter comes to the shop this p.m. and says "Nanny, my Mother's Day gift to you is staying with you tonight!" So here she is, in the chair with Papa watching Lord of the Rings..........
But her real gift is every night she stays with her Nanny....( at least 2 X / week)

Thanks, Mark.. after working 12 hours each of the last three days, I have the day off, and I plan to sleep in! I'm so happy! :calidream:

Thank you Boss and Mikey. The day will be spent with my beloved twins, my longsuffering husband, and my own mom. What could be better? It will not be an easy day because I am flooded with images of the employee of 23 years who was like a 2nd mother to me and who died in a house fire last year. Also there are the images of my dad, struggling last Mother's Day to cook his famous chicken and rice (called purleau) for his ladies (Mom and his 3 daughters). He died less than a month later. Sorry for adding these sad thoughts to this upbeat post.

a first

This is the first time I have ever worked on Mothers' Day. I'll be leaving shortly to go in and help the boss who decided to stay open to get some walk in business and take a few local deliveries. She was going to try to work the store herself when I asked if she wanted help she was so grateful I volunteered. This Mothers' Day wasn't real good for us... :(

Sweet! Thanks, Mark! Ah...Mother's Day Sunday...I'll be working and I will have a smile on my face all day...knowing that I am making the day special for other Mothers! Happy Mother's Day FC Moms! I'm off to the shop now...type at ya later! It was a superb holiday in Medford!

Almost forgot: I too wish all FC Mom's a wonderful and relaxing Mother's Day. For me, I am at the shop while Mrs. Mioux is relaxing in bed.

She helped out here this week.

With a good box of wine? ;)

And a great giggle, compliments of you. :) Actually I have lovely "BOTTLE" of Trapiche. And yes I will enjoy it later.

Thanks again Joe. You're the best.

Thanks for the Mother's Day Wishes. Just had a friend share this with me.

Our pastor shared this story this morning and I thought it was appropriate:

Two little boys saved their money to buy mom a special gift. They went to a florist shop and found the perfect arrangement and they even got to pick out a special ribbon for their special mom, they were so excited!! So on that special morning they woke their mom up with the special gift and as all good mothers do she accepted it with great pleasure and smiled when she read the special ribbon picked out just by them for her:May You Rest in Peace!!!

OMG, that is hilarious!!! But appropriate! I hope all us moms are resting peacefully today. I know I am!

It must have been the day for sermons using florists.

Mine today used the story of a kid going into the a flower shop to buy flowers .... kid didn't have enough money,,,,, another customer gave kid the money... kid goes to cemetary and gives his mom the flowers. customer sees kid at cemetary... goes back to flower shop and cancels the delivery.

He takes his flowers with him and delivers them to his mom in person.

Stop and appreciate the important things in life.

Hey V. , I bought that wine called "wine by Joe" today.

the label reads..... (and i am not making this up) really good wine

screw cap and all, its not a bad Pinot Noir from Oregon. vintage 2005.

Joe
I am still having problems paying $17.50 for a bottle of wine with a screw cap.

this mom worked the worst week in about 15 years......but the kicker and best part of the week was a young girl who came in Thursday and asked how much a carnation was. When we told her $1.50 each, she asked how much in a vase. She then asked if she could get baby's breath and a bow. We told her we could do a two carnation budvase ( a recycled 9" vase ) with a bow and baby's breath for $9.98 with tax. She was ecastatic.......and said I'll take it, can I pick it up Friday? Sure! The next words out of her mouth was, "I'm going back to the other flower shop and cancel what I ordered, they wanted $10 for a carnation in a short vase with no baby's breath or bow"............In two years, that young lady will be going to the Christmas formal and the Prom....and by the way, my Choc. Lab was just loving the belly rubs she was giving him!!! After all the cooler problems, we finished up our deliveries at 3:00 p.m today with only 2 not home. Delivery girl said she'd never heard so many "They are beautiful!! " and a couple "We always love getting flowers from your shop".....so I guess it is all worth it.

Joe, if I see Wine by Joe, I'll be sure to give it a try. :) I was at the liquor store the other day and they had Beaujolais (sp) in a tetra box. That's going too far. Also, tetra boxes, as fun as they are, aren't particularly friendly to the environment, so, I won't buy them.

I ended up not having my Trapiche as I went to see Alana at work. She gave me flowers, bought me dinner with wine, and gave me the best card ever. All in all a very good day and sporadic time with the ultimate daughter. :) (she was very very busy)
