We are closed on Saturdays. Our Dove listing states closed Saturdays & Sundays. Every once in awhile we come into Saturday/Sunday orders on Monday morning.

Usually it's teleflora.com orders. Therefore, I don't feel bad since they should know what our Dove listing says.

We don't suspend because most orders that come over the weekend are for Monday delivery. If we suspend, we'd miss those.

Question - Should we have to suspend our Dove for the weekend, because florists don't check out listing to see if we offer weekend deliveries?

You should suspend for Saturday. If your system is on suspend for Saturday's date and the orders are dated for Monday, you would still receive them.

I wouldn't suspend for Sunday, we are closed and never suspend. Any florist who puts an order over Dove for Sunday delivery without calling to see if the shop is open, is a genuine nitwit.

As long as you have it codified.....in the listing details and everything......It ain't your fault if they don't know how to read. I would not worry about it.....Leave things they way they are.

I believe this is not quite accurate. IIRC, Dove can still push through the suspend, as long as the delivery date is not within the suspend dates. I could be wrong; being open 7 days, I haven't suspended in a loooooong time :eek:face

If we were closed sunday, I would not suspend, for the reasons already stated. It's the sending shops responsibility to check info prior to sending, though the best solution for the customer would be to suspend to avoid any stupidity on the sending shops part.

IIRC (always wanted to use that)...
IF your codified hours are in the directory AND you are on the Dove System....any order sent to you on a Saturday after you are closed should be rejected by the mainframe.

Yeah, no they still come through.... After we close I mean..

When we are closed on a Saturday (a very rare occasion indeed!) we suspend only for the hours we are closed... If the orders still come through after we are suppose to be closed.. That's not our fault, someone on the other end can't read...

We've never missed a Monday order because we suspended for a Saturday. Well, i should say IT doesn't seem as if we ever had a problem.

I always ASSume (makes an ass of me?) that all shops are open at least for limited hours on Saturday.

Good thing it's not FTD cuz you would pay thru the Delayed Response Ass for them not looking it up

That was supposed to be a joke but it fizzled so I am going to bed now
