I got this letter from teleflora today which says "80% on EVERY incoming order" in the same paragraph as the teleflora.com goes consumer direct announcement.

Is this an accidental bad choice of words, intentional blatant deception, or really good news???

apparently many florists are reading this as really good news, but.....

Hey Bloomz,

When I read it on my on-line statement Nov. 7th , it took me about 30 seconds to realize that it was bad news, news we half expected but was hoping would never come. I laughed at the fact that they were spinning it as a good thing, within minutes I realized how many florist would read this wrong and think they were now going to get 80% on all incoming.

Our website orders do continue to grow but not by the effort or advertising of Teleflora. We'll see what findaflorist.com brings us...but, I'm not holding my breath.

You're faster than me then. I read that they were going after the consumers just fine, but never saw that florists would be unaware enough to be thinking it meant 80% on ALL incoming until my friend at FSI told me he had a couple members going to quit because tf had raised the percentages.

Then I got the letter today and see how it sure looks like was intended to make them think that, tho it obviously isn't true.

That'd be a great way to gain some membership, though.
But I guess they figure that FTD would just follow suit.

The CONsumer florist would think

They are getting 80% on all incoming orders, but teleflora is offering 80% on all teleflora.com orders from what I am reading. How can they make it look good when they went from 100% to 80% to the filling florist.

Teleflora, com is our consumer shopping site that uses a retail florist for every purchase. As the industry leader, we are going against industry convention by giving the retail florist 80% instead of 73% on every incoming order,

I am saying this because of the way the paragraph is done and that is their loophole. I can hear them say, WE meant every teleflora.com orders only not every order you get. They have so many double talk in this letter it is unbelievable.

Like Blooms said, some florist will be in the total dark about this.

And that would be the FIRST time they followed (either one) with something GOOD, but alas, not gonna happen...

Although maybe FTD.com will be forced to follow, but it will take a year or two....nah...never happen either...

And Missus C...please don;t hold your breath that long...we need ya around here!
