our collective prayers to the family.

I am so sorry to hear that. Thoughts and prayers, from NJ. What a sin.
From MSNBC

My prayers go out to the Bachman family and those that knew Todd and all...

What a sad day....

That is so tragic, there was no provocation and there seems to be no motive, just senseless; I can't wrap my brain around something as tragic as this one. My heart goes to those he left behind. Just hope his wife and the other person heals from their physical and emotional wounds.

How utterly ......I don't know.

We've had dinner with them before...Very nice couple and business people for all of us to emulate.

True leaders in our industry.

A real tragedy. And, not only will the family be devastated by their loss and the injuries to Mrs. Bachman, the process of dealing with a death in a foreign country is a daunting one. I once had a customer who had to face that situation and it was very difficult.
I don't know the Bachmans personally, but I do know Dan Kotecki AIFD, who has worked there for many years. I'm sure their staff is stunned and horribly sad.
Think I'll do the only thing I know to do . . . send flowers.

FTD just emailed out a press release on this.....

We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragedy in China today that resulted in the death of Todd Bachman, an owner of the Bachman's chain of flower shops in Minneapolis, MN. We ask that you pray for Barbara Bachman, who remains in critical condition as a result of the attack, for Todd and for the entire Bachman family. FTD is coordinating with industry leaders to help the family at this time and we will continue to provide information to you as it becomes available.

I'm sickened and without words.

Bill, he was a TRUE gentleman. i was fortunate to get to know him. He was smart but never did he think he was better than anyone else. the kindest, most gentlest man i have ever know. What a loss to mankind and the floral industry. And Barabram what a joy she is. man, what a day this has been...

The Bachman Family

My sympathies and prayers are going to the Bachman Families.

I probably knew Todd's father or grandfather. The Bachmans came to our business place in 1957 to see first hand our Self Service Greenhouse for Spring gardening plants. They graciously asked our permission to duplicate in Minneapolis what we developed. Florist Review wrote a story indicating that this was the first self serve greenhouse in the industry.

So there has always been a link to the Bachman organization. I have never met a Bachman that was not a gentleman and most friendly person.

I don't know what to say either....

I just hope the family is able to get their loved ones home quickly...
