Anyone who is interested in seeing a little of Newfoundland can see Peter Mansbridge and our own Rex Murphy on the National tonight at 10PM everywhere in Canada (exc 10:30 here of course) and maybe on CBC Newsworld (not sure). They are broadcasting from Bay Roberts tonight with emphasis on Port de Grave (just 5kms from Bay Roberts). This community was originally settled in the 1600's by Jersey fisherman and many still have the original accent. All of the 61 boats in the harbour are lit up with Christmas lights.
Ryan, Peter and Rex are at the new Klondyke Motel which opened after you and Janis visited.
 
Yes later this week they are in Napanee Ontario, which is near here, and home to Avril and the latest Canadian Idol winner, and the current Mayor is a Florist, now how better does that get? :)
 
In our humble opinion, Port de Grave is the most beautiful spot on the Avalon (no offense to Bay Roberts, Cape Spear, etc). Well worth a visit, but be sure to take a camera!

Bet it don't smell as bad.
 
Sunny, that's the smell of money!!!! Hopefully they will be exchanging some of it for Christmas centrepieces in a week or two. Rock on..........
 
Hey guys, I loved the time I got to spend in Newfoundland. I look forward to being able to go back again in the near future - you have a lovely province.
