Please my Flower Chat friends......
I'm about ready to loose my mind with this wedding.

If you know any sort of trick to turn these Peonies white, please do tell...
It's for a wedding this weekend.

I ordered "white" peonies from 3 different vendors....

You'd think one of them would have gotten it right.

Thanks in advance.

btw: this is another good reason to use a retail florist over a BB. I am assuming you bought from three different vendors because you didn't all of them to come through with pure white Peonies.

Shannon, do you know what variety that you got in? I can't really help with changing the color, but I can recommend "Duchess" and "gardenia" for white, but not pink peonies. When it comes to peonies, I order by variety rather than by color because they can all be so different.

Are they white on the outside and blush on the inside? Are you able to add a bunch of sturdier white flowers tightly around the blooms to prevent them from opening too much? Just a thought.

Good luck.

Oh Joe....

I didn't back myself into this corner..... I was PUSHED into it, actually maybe kicked into it- face first....

Update...
One of our temp help tells me about 5pm, (as I'm about ready to vomit, because these "whites" aren't white...."Well how many do you need? My mom has a back yard full of pure white peonies, shall I go cut you a sample to see if they will work?"

uh, yeah.....

Problem solved......thank you flower gods for helping Shannon on a horrible horrible week. I swear I almost kissed Ashley right on her lips!

In addition to all this I have going on this week, I have an aunt in the hospital dying. If she makes it past tomorrow, it will be a miracle. I've been at the hospital for the past 2 nights. My mom hasn't left her side until today for about 2 hours.

If you guys ever wanted to send me good floral vibes- this would be the time to do it. I could really use a hug.

Shannon, your family is in my prayers. you will get through this!

Great job on finding the white peonies. Just make sure to submerge the heads for awhile to get rid of ants and do not have any flower food in the water when you do this. (I bleached some gorgeous red peonies with floralife.)

I will always remember something my grandmother (my mentor) told me. She said that anyone can make a pretty flower look pretty. It's the ones that can make an ugly flower look pretty that are truly talented. I find myself repeating that quote on a weekly basis...

Good Hugs, positive Vibes, Prayers, and meditations headed your way

I do this all the time for just that reason. I rarely want my eggs in one basket, as most of my wholesalers seldom know the names of varieties.

quick update....

My Aunt died this morning..

She was an amazing woman with a huge heart. She was an old hippie and I swear her aura was rainbow colored. When I looked at her I saw rainbows.
She had a gentle spirit. She, like my mom, was married to a messed up Vietnam Vet. No matter how many hardships they had- she stuck by him. He died 5 years ago, and she's been dying ever since. Literally, right after he died, she found out she had a bad heart. She's been fighting a good fight, but now it's over. I will so miss her.

Hugggss.....you're going to need them this weekend...

Shannon, hugs to you girlfirend....looks like you need hugs and a big fat margarita....

It's almost over chickie, you will make it...

Sorry to hear about your Aunt...I often wonder why when we are so preoccupied with other issues, we often get personal issues dumped right on top...I am sure in the grand scheme of things if someone didn't think you could handle it it wouldn't happen...Look ahead to find a time when you can sit and reflect on what a wonderful job you did tackling all that was thrown at you and pat yourself on the back....
