So sorry this sould probably be two posts but in my heart it's one.
My town will be in the news today I think.
Wed. a man (GOOD MAN) (57 yrs old) was working (tree cutting business) on our street. Well the chain saw kicked out and caught him in the neck. It did not cut off his head as it may be reported. It did however make a huge cut he fall foward and bleed out almost instantly.
His man on the ground worked furiously to save him - he was gone almost instantly (GOOD MAN). When the firetruck could not get his body down immediatly (too much tree debris) our local power company (sped) a bucket truck over and got him down (GOOD COMPANY). His man on the ground was inconsolable. We have a lot of snow here so you can imagine what the scene looked like.
The M.E. could not get there fast enough (they felt) to spare his family from seeing him. He has 5 children (girls) and the younger ones are still in high school. We are across the street from the high school so the girls were very close by. So our local FD went over with his body car and took the body away quickly and quietly (GOOD MAN)
I didn't write about this sooner because I just cry every time I think about it. But I just wanted to share because, man o man there have been some (not so nice) posts on here lately and I thought this would make people stop and think. it goes on...
Today I found out a family friend and local wholesaler will be getting all the family work. Why? Because for the last 2 days he has not slept as he was hand making this man's coffin. (GREAT MAN)
So there are great FD's, Firemen, telephone repairmen, wholesalers, friends, co-workers, etc. it is so sad that it takes such a tragedy to remember that (I include myself in the folks who forget that)
For those of you out there who like to do things yourself. Please THINK! This was a man with a lifetime of experience and a chainsaw killed him. Don't go out in your backyard and hack things down, call a professional. I know I am saying a professional died here but think about your loved one being the one to go out in the backyard and find your body.
Please keep all of these wonderful people in your thoughts and prayers. As well as praying for this man and his family.
I am sorry if things are misspelled or a mess, I just can't stop crying when I go over this yet I felt it was important to say out loud.
