So sorry this sould probably be two posts but in my heart it's one.

My town will be in the news today I think.

Wed. a man (GOOD MAN) (57 yrs old) was working (tree cutting business) on our street. Well the chain saw kicked out and caught him in the neck. It did not cut off his head as it may be reported. It did however make a huge cut he fall foward and bleed out almost instantly.

His man on the ground worked furiously to save him - he was gone almost instantly (GOOD MAN). When the firetruck could not get his body down immediatly (too much tree debris) our local power company (sped) a bucket truck over and got him down (GOOD COMPANY). His man on the ground was inconsolable. We have a lot of snow here so you can imagine what the scene looked like.

The M.E. could not get there fast enough (they felt) to spare his family from seeing him. He has 5 children (girls) and the younger ones are still in high school. We are across the street from the high school so the girls were very close by. So our local FD went over with his body car and took the body away quickly and quietly (GOOD MAN)

I didn't write about this sooner because I just cry every time I think about it. But I just wanted to share because, man o man there have been some (not so nice) posts on here lately and I thought this would make people stop and think. it goes on...

Today I found out a family friend and local wholesaler will be getting all the family work. Why? Because for the last 2 days he has not slept as he was hand making this man's coffin. (GREAT MAN)

So there are great FD's, Firemen, telephone repairmen, wholesalers, friends, co-workers, etc. it is so sad that it takes such a tragedy to remember that (I include myself in the folks who forget that)

For those of you out there who like to do things yourself. Please THINK! This was a man with a lifetime of experience and a chainsaw killed him. Don't go out in your backyard and hack things down, call a professional. I know I am saying a professional died here but think about your loved one being the one to go out in the backyard and find your body.

Please keep all of these wonderful people in your thoughts and prayers. As well as praying for this man and his family.

I am sorry if things are misspelled or a mess, I just can't stop crying when I go over this yet I felt it was important to say out loud.

Be Careful
Remember Life Is Short
Be Kind To Everyone They May Not Be Here Tommorrow
There Are Good People Out There Everywhere
Pray For Strangers
Hug Your Family Tonight

thanks for this reminder...

That is so so sad. My heart goes out to the family and to everyone affected by this.
It's terrible.

I worry so much about my Hubby. He loves to go cut down dead trees out in the boonies...We have a fire place. Even when we didn't have a fire place he'd go cut wood cause his mom and sissy and my mom and dad all have wood burning stoves oe a fireplace.

It scares the hell out of me, but I don't fight him on it anymore. He's a grown man, and one thing that I have learned in the 13 years we have lived together and been married is trying to get a man to do what you want is useless... I just worry the whole time he is gone and I check in on him the whole time he is gone.
So sad...

Dee Dee your post is making me cry too.

Hugs Dee Dee. I know how much damage a chain saw can do. Hubby's kicked back while sawing a tree at my horse barn and it got him in the knee. Luckily his kill switch worked ...
Prayers for healing from this tragedy.

My thoughts and prayers are with this family, and I am so selfish by venting to you just a fe days ago, and this has made me relize my issue was nothing but a mere flash in the pan as this family is going through...is so sad, all my hugs to you as well,,

Dee, how so so sad for this mans family and all involved. I thank god every day for the family i have and for living such a priviledged life! I never try to lose sight of that.

I totally agree, life is too short...

Prayers to the family and all those great people you mentioned that have done their best to ease pain at this horrid time. Hugs and love to you for feeling so down from all the way over the pond..

Dee Dee,

Thinking of you. Hope you're okay.

Hugs....

God bless you, Dee Dee, and God bless this family.

Things can happen so fast! My dad was once helping cut some limbs off of a tree when one of the cut limbs hit the ground and bounced up, hitting Dad in the face. His injuries were not bad, but he was almost knocked out, and it surely scared the rest of us.
