I am updating our class discussion materials with regional color trends for the 2007 wedding season. I need your help! What colors are most popular in your area? If you could please post your most popular colors and your zip code so I can put together a summary, that would be greatly appreciated. I'll post the final compilation when it's ready.

Thanks for your help!

We are seeing lots of apple green dresses (love that because they are looking for the splash of color in the flowers) and claret/garnet for the fall. We still have the black and white trend, but it seems to be fading.

Hope this helps!

For Zip Code 16001

We are seeing a pretty big range of colors, but the most popular are food tones - chocolate and latte colors for dresses. As for flowers, lots of pink (especially against the chocolate dresses). Also seeing earthy tones in rusts, chocolates, burnt orange, etc...

It's a lot of lime green cymbidiums with either hot pink & mango's or lime green and burgundy down here...seems like we get two or three in the same week that want the same colors...at least they are getting away fromt he all white/step/nosegays! We love doing something different!

Just did a wedding this weekend with smoky purple we complimented the gowns with intense multicolors purple, orange yellow pink...just stunning. Looking at the rest of the year we see alot of Purples (lavender) Apple green and Hot Pink (strawberry).

My weddings this sping have been either pink & Green or orange & green. 1- white & green coming up and finished 1- brown & pink. Here in the south the girls have wanted the flowers bright.

Here are our top color trends for Felicity, Ohio, 45120 06-07 in no certain order...

1. Chocolate Brown and Turquoise
2. Bubblegum Pink and Mint Green
3. Tangerine and Cream
4. Chocolate Brown and Mint or Bubblegum..sometimes both
5. Monochromatic color schemes

The top color right now is chocolate brown alongside just about any color. Lavender is on it's way out. I have only had one wedding in the last three years with a lavender request.

Out are the days of all white or ivory bridal bouquets. COLOR is KING!

These describe our trends also. My next wedding will be shades of orange and pink together. I cannot remember the bridesmaid's dress color.

Ditto to Bloomery and others who mentioned foods.

Dress fashions - latte, chocolate, apple (green or red), tiffany blue, ocean blue (light misty blueish), pale silvery green, sage, hot pink, butter yellow. Not one black wedding this year - the first in 15 years, so far!

Flower fashions - Vivid tones - lime green w/hot pinks; orange with yellow, hot pink, green; shades of red with green; shades of orange & yellow mixed w/green.

Flower fashions - Subtle Tones - Butter yellow w/medium pink; anything medium blue with white, ivory; mono creams/tans; mono blues - light and dark.

Flower varieties - gerbers, hydrangea, stock, roses, spray roses, dendros, cymbids, greenery in dusty tones and variegated leaves.

Neat project.

Hey, Leanne -

First of all - welcome to FlowerChat. :) For those of you that don't know, Leanne and her husband Dave own the Floral Design Institute with locations in Portland and Seattle.

As far as wedding trend colors go - #1 are chocolate/ latte bridesmaids with shades of pink for spring and summer and Autumn tones for fall. Still popular are sage gowns accompanied with pale/neutral colors and red gowns with vibrant fuschias/crimsons.

We still do more white/cream/ivory/pale bridal bouquets than colors for spring and summer. It may have more to do with the way we consult with brides. After showing them photos of bright-colored bouquets on white gowns in full-shot pictures, they notice how the eye gravitates toward the flowers, and not the bride's face.

For photos, I also recommend against high contrast color combos in bouquets like white-red or white-hot pink, which give a polka-dot look when photographed in front of gowns (They may look great alone, but put them in scale with people and the change is noticable.)

Pittsburgh, Pa (with all its surrounding zips)
Big colors are: any shade of brown (truffle, dark chocolate, etc) with cream, pink, latte sashes or trim
Greens -- celedone, sage, lime (nothing dark winter green yet).
Black - still a hot one for us, with all kinds of accents
turquoise blue (or robins egg blue, or light ice blue) several of those, all with different accent (silver is hot)

we are seeing more & more bridal dresses with some kind of halter or straps (as opposed to strapless, which they cannot keep up).
Seeing lots of knee-length and tea length dresses -- not all long. Girls like the shorter dresses because they are more reuseable.

Flowers - almost any color under the rainbow, but bright!! hot pink, lime green, bright yellow, lots of hypericum berries , cymbidium orchids. Berries and unusual stuff (like rosemary) for bout. Mothers flowers are tending toward either fancy wrist corsages or cluches to carry (or fancy tussie mussies).

Lots of "over the top" wedding this year...more than we have ever done...that part is a little scary. (ie; flower bill will be in the $$$$ range).

Our hotels are busy with mutiples on most weekends from now until hanksgiving. 7-07-07 seems to be a biggie!! Labor Day weekend is also huge.

Hope this helps!
Cheryl
