Just for the heck of it and just to see how youze all feel, and to stop it getting all wordy...you get just two words to sum up how you feel about wire services/relay.....think hard don't waste them......are they "Considerate lover, or lifelong friend,or Sworn enemy,or money grabbers....you get the gist...your two words do not even have to be interlinked.... could be dependable/honest,easygoing/fair....

shouldn't butt back in ...but...

Working relationship
Who's doing the working????lollol NAUGHTY me,i'm not meant to comment on the two words, that was part of my unwritten rules....but as you didn't add a big HA HA!!!or perhaps you meant it...thats worried me... ;)

Here's MIND TOO!

I really liked Rock's BLOOD SUCKERS!

My choice is COMPETITOR LIABILITY!

Kind uv rolls off your mouth Oaf, like Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash!

For some others who have described them as WORKING RELATIONSHIPS? Jim Jones had a working relationship with all of his following, and they all drank the Kool-Aid on his COMMAND!
lol

OK so where are the good words

Prestonway I too am getting tired with the slamming .. moaning is all very well but action would be better and I get very frustrated by it all.

However even when an opportunity is presented to say nice things about relay only one has come up with a positive which means either everyone dislikes it or those who do like it aren't prepared to say so with the same passion ... which in itsef is a negative sign.

Please also remember that UK florists have only just (in the last 18 months) seen what privatisation really means. Add in the fact that our ability to communicate via forums with other florists (especially you over there who are way ahead of us in terms of what privatisation can mean) has been operational for less than a year. As such the chances of repetition are bound to be higher.

I did have an interest behind my initial jovial/fun way of asking, yes carrie we in the uk cannot help but stroll into ground that has been covered many times over,on this site....But have they moved on,in all that time????,here we are all fresh and keen in the uk,wanting to push things on a little ,if at all possible....my reasoning behind two little words was,and im sure it is viewed by all things relay...that "they" may,(if "they" are interested or not)take a look at this quasi(tongue in cheek,if you like) poll, and possibly only possibly..take a bit of the feeling on board...cause time is running short.....

My thoughts exactly

Personally I think the freshness of florist concern in the UK is actually very powerful and could help all florists because;

1: UK florists haven't been hanging around for a slow painful 'death' of what they've been used to ... it's happened over here in less than 2 years. That speed, coupled with what the UK has learned from the US has converted a lot of UK florists into realising they have to do something more quickly. We aren't yet bored of it because there hasn't really time to get bored. Our changes are happening weekly.

2: We may be tiny but this is a classic case of small is beautiful. The UK is one of the most powerful markets in the world. If UK florists were to mount a campaign the ramifications would be felt across the globe.

3: Our consumer market is not quite as Internet focussed as the US. Therefore I believe it is easier to change UK customer perception to buying direct from a florist than it is in the US

4: Because so many UK florists are not completely reliant on relay there isn't the same 'fear' factor. Yes it exisits and needs to be countered and yes they have to learn new ways of doing things but it's happening at a rate of knots and, forgive me, faster than perhaps in the US.

4: The UK has powerful communication tools that allow for free speech and presentation of all ideas.

To be honest I'm not sure 'they' will take one jot of notice of what's said here but 'they' as in Interflora must be looking at the serious drop in membership numbers with some concern while Teleflorist must be getting concerned that opening up deals left right and centre aren't the panacea to keeping their members happy.
