Funny you mentioned this video... I just made the girls watch 4 of them in a row to get inspired for selling and making. Did you see the shoulder one? I believe it is from last year, lights and all on a sports band-aide. He did not seem to use any greens in the corsages, in the boutonnieres yes, but not the corsages. We are going to go this route this year and leave out most of the greens, looks so much quicker.

Last year I started making them with glue. By the last prom I was getting pretty good. Now I need to get better at selling! What I like about this video is the way the bracelets are displayed. I'm going to make something similar with tubes covered in black but I'll have them verticle instead of horizontal.

OK.
I am now convinced. I have glued lots of things, but not corsages. But after watching this I am a convert.
Thanks J.
And thanks to Adam for posting it for us.

I loved this episode because so many of our customers seem stumped on how to use the Fitz bracelets. I got more out of watching this than anything else I have seen.

In regards to leaves - I am seeing alot of designers using the Laser Leaves from Milton Adler. Personally, I like natural things better. But I guess the prom kids love the bling of the laser leaves. I don't get it. But I'm not 17 anymore... It appears that the laser leaves are easier to work with than real anything. And they make a pretty base.

Hey Sarah, I just got home from a fitz design show with your Cory. Great job and he showed making that laser leaves corsage in two minutes and cheap! (or should i say comfortably priced)

Adam thanks so much for that. Wrist corsages are my weak point for sure so this has really helped, i am going to buy some stuff on Friday and have a go. I really want to promote proms but not sure that the kids around here think flowers are cool... they might with all that bling though.

Cheers dude :)

just saw J last night at open house for Dreisbach Wholesale. He was very informative and was fun to see glueing techniques

If I have several corsages to make, I have used the oasis adhesive, and yes it is messy!

I just ordered the Fritz catalog for all those beaded bracelets instead of the silver bands we've been using forever. The silver bands are about .40 each, I'm sure the beaded ones are around $5. I remember when these came out 6 years ago the beaded bracelets were around $12 ea.

Are the prom kids going to pay another $10 for a wristlet?

I'm going to show them and see what happens. Our wristlets are usually $24 (with the old silver band) with roses and accent flowers.

We have been selling the keepsake beaded bracelets for about 2 or 3 years now. We use them as an add on. Use your price of $24.00 as a base and then the girls or guys or moms can add on the additional items. The bracelets (the beaded ones we do sell at $10.00) and the bling are all extra, added on to the base price.

I wasn't sure if they would sell in our area, but they do. Give it a try, you can't sell what you don't offer. If they don't sell, they make great "vase necklaces"

Some of the Fitz bracelets are pricey, but they have reduced the price on most of the bracelets this year. One, called Special Day, wholesales for $1.25 ea. The most popular this year, Gum Drop, wholesales for $1.89. Gum Drop is actually two bracelets together, but after the prom they can be separated. I don't know what your normal mark up is, but even if you triple your cost, its still a great value for the girls at $6. You can't tell me teenage girls won't pay $6 for a bracelet they can wear over and over again. The key is to sell it as JEWELRY not just flowers. Girls get JEWELRY. Girls BUY JEWELRY.
