Welcome to Flowerchat... got a couple questions for ya'll

Who is Particleventures.com?

And are you a web provider? SEO firm? what?

This does not tell me much, and I see you only registered your URL for one year... that's kind of odd...:

We're a small startup that provides web development and technical consulting services for small to medium sized florists. To Clear up any confusion, Particle Ventures is the legal name of the business which was decided prior to us just servicing florists. As for the short registration period of the domain name, we will be extending the registration soon, just haven't gotten around to it since it's on an auto-renew. I've registered on this site to engage with florists and to stay in the loop on issues affecting them. Especially web related ones. I hope I've addressed any concerns you have, we're definitely not a fly-by night operation.

Thanks.

Thanks for the info...

And don't take my asking as anything more than watching out for the community... happens to everyone...

Welcome...

Hi and thanks for your interest in our community. Is there a reason why your website is so scimpy?

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

I actually just came across one of your ecommerce sites today, after spotting an article of one of your clients on a publishing site. Just put 2 and 2 together. I thought the site was very nice. Particularly this info on the front page:

NO SERVICE FEES
Teleflora.com......$12.99
1800-Flowers......$13.99
FTD.com......$12.99
Our Shop......$0.00
You Save at least $12.99
When you buy from local florists you receive a superior product & pay a lot less!

Was confused by this: "Grand Prairie Deliveries Only | FTD | Teleflora" at the top of the site.

Our clients are particularly interested in orders they can fulfill themselves and not have to "wire-out", hence deliveries being restricted to the locale in which they reside. As for FTD and Teleflora logos, they're displayed for the same reasons shops display these logos on their store windows.

Let me know if you have any more questions, and thank you for the complement on the design.

We're about to launch a site with a lot more content. We've been highly focused on the development of our clients' sites and so our own has suffered a lack of attention. Ironically, I see this happening a lot with web designers. We get so caught up in the work for others that we neglect our own sites.

I appreciate the critique and the questions. It's one of the reasons we joined this site, we're looking for input, suggestions, and advice. I hope that we can also offer some in return.

Thanks.

I can agree with that sentiment :)

We're often like the plumbers with leaky facuets, or mechanicals with a busted car. Our own work comes last.

Ryan, this made me laugh, hubby is a plumber (Pipefitter, to be exact) one of our toilets runs too much and you have to jiggle the handle, the handles on the bathtub in the kids bathroom needs fixing, and half the water in our kitchen has been frozen for a week now.

You would THINK he would be fixing these things..... especially since he is laid off at the moment. hmmmm
