Hi all!

I am starting a thread just for fun. I thought of this with Amy from another thread.

I think we should all post the ugliest stuff we ever sold to a bride at her request. However if anyone would like to expand to the ugliest things you sold to a customer because they made you please feel free to post here.

We could all use some levity and I know there has got to be a great stash of pic's out there where shall we say... all of the bride's taste is in her mouth.

Have fun! I am goiing to try to be the starter ....hope my pic comes throught for all of you.

The bride brought us PEZ despensers and had us rip thier little heads off. She LOVED this, cried at delivery, sent a gushy thank you and pics! The ribbon if you can see it she also provided it was SOoooo yucky (quality wise)there are no words

First thing that comes to mind is at prom 04. Teen wanted a white mini carn dipped in orange and then ribbon wrapped in aqua. It was so hideous I was so sure this would be a redo. She LOVED IT! I didn't take a photo as the picture is seared into my brain forever.

Also, had a "gothe" gentleman come into the shop and BEGGED to have 1/2 dozen red roses painted black for his anniversary. Tried and tried to talk him out of it but no go. Told him they wouldn't last, smell would be terrible, etc. He didn't care. Their "thing" was black. When delivered, his wife went APE S^^^ over it.

Now you see, I like those arrangements because they meant something to the bride and not Martha. ;)

You did a great job and in my books they do not qualify for "ugly" status.

One of my designers just saw this over my shoulder she is (laughing) and begging me to add that those three callas were symbolic of 3 different baseball players (we can't remeber who) and that the bride insisted we make a triangle out of the callas for yet another symbolic reason.

I can't find the pictures, but I had to make a bridal bouquet for a rather butch bride who hated pink, hated peach, hated pastels and "girly" flowers of any kind. She also raised peacocks and wanted the feathers incorporated into all the bouquets, corsages and boutonnierres. We ended up making free form cascade bouquets (back in those days) of white antherium, stephanotis (no pearls of course) alstromeria (I think) and loads of peacock feathers. THEY WERE HIDEOUS and the scale was awful!!!!! She loved them. I was totally grossed out knowing that the peacock feathers were fresh from the animal too!!!!

By far the "ugliest" bouquet we made was for a bride who wanted red, pink and white carnations with loads of babies breath, round in a holder. Small. 3 of each color. Had to be as spherical as we could make it.

She cried when she picked it up because it was just what she wanted and she was SO happy. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.
