OK You buy the best possible product, not market grade garbage, and put forth the extra effort.
Competitors constantly bash you this side of Sunday.
You stand behind the work, the customer service and then,.................what ?

Since this economy went south I cannot believe the tactics used by " Professional Florists ". ........................................Hello !

You suck, bought roadside flowers and want to compete with us ?
Get real !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, and you're a supplier ?

Where are we really at , at these crossroads ? Carol, Cathy, Mark, Ted, Ricky etc................and of course JB, Bloomz , etc..............?

You call me , I deliver, 100%, every time, with quality that boggles the mind, or it doesn't leave.

Many here are using the junk Cathy. Cheap, low longevity, garbage.
( Note that our latest endeavor had a COGS of over 250.00, and we never blinked an eye ). That's what you, and I, and the Real Florists are about.

Received a call the other day from a florist whose Boss was away.
Two local shops said we " Suck ".
Girl called her Boss as no one would do the order.
Girl spilled her guts to me.
2 shops bashed us to levels I cannot fathom. Why, cause we cut into their biz, two towns away, and give the customers what they deserve, not expect !
Boss, tells his employee, " you know why they said that s__t ?
......because they are the best . Call him, ask for K___n, and you will learn.
4:30 PM for a same day.. I did it, myself. 5 towns away !
That's what it's all about.

As far as roadside ................several suppliers are bringing in market grade or far below in the area, but not Pennock or Mankers.
One supplier has deep ties to a shop and the complaints we hear are amazing to say the least.

Its sad to hear that. In tough times, tracking the bottom line to the point of damaging your brand is a bad scenario that will hurt them severely in the long run.

I would take the other shops bashing you as a compliment and leave it at that! Customers don't appreciate it, and neither do smart employees.

I laughed from the get go as I know who we are and what we can do.
Unimpressed by a feeble attempt to gather business from a good shop.

PS the celeb event last night with Freddy Jackson etc...........went very well. awaiting the photogs pics.

Sometimes I have to look around just to make sure I'm not still in the school yard. The maturity level of some people in business is apparently suspect.

Mark a picture of you couldn't possibly be any scarier than that former avatar!

How do I go about giving you casino cash?

Kevin, the person or institution that is the best is always the one that all other want to beat. It is a fact of life.

It's too bad that those people don't realize that they are not number 1 because of those very actions against their competitor.

It's loney at the top.

Saturday I rejected a $100 funeral basket because we did not have the orange lilies (or any lilies, for that matter) which were so prominently displayed in the arrangement. We had the sunflowers and some of the other items, but we were just missing too much, especially those orange lilies.

Our driver delivers for several florists, and when she came to pick up our deliveries, she mentioned that she was taking a basket to the same funeral as one of our deliveries. "Is it for _______________, is it in a fireside basket, and did the order come from _____________," I asked. Her affirmative answer prompted my curiosity, so as I helped carry things out to her vehicle, I took a look at the item which we'd rejected. It had no lilies--orange or other--, not much of anything that was in the picture except a couple of sunflowers. I was dumbfounded, especially when the driver said that the other florist had not sent any kind of message about substituting flowers. "She just uses whatever she has," my driver stated.

Do you know the finalcial situation of this shop? I think this scenero is very common in the flower industry. Have they been around a long time?

You did the right thing and they got the order....doesn't seem quite fair.

She's a small shop and does quite a bit of weddings and corporate decorating. She is also, I strongly suspect, financially subsidized by her husband. He recently bought her a van and paid cash for it.

Ouch!! That is hard to compete with.

If the person that ordered it sees it and complains she will have lost money and reputation so it is better that you refused it. What florists sends a funeral order that specific with no 2nd choice? An OG I'm guessing, so no loss !
