Hey!

I have a wedding fayre coming up and trying to think of ideas for display bouquets. Im wanting to create something with unusual accessories. I am however feeling about as inspired as the weather ( rain again :porttopor).

Anyone ever used something really unusual?

Thanks in advance,

Manda

The most unusual weddings I did revolved around a theme. The most recent was a 1812 wedding. Not too much for unusual for the flowers except the ribbons were hand made (to match the hand made dresses), all the flowers were ones you could pick wild around here, there were no bouts or cors. as there was none in that time. I guess that one didn't really help you.

I also did one for halloween, the bouquet was mostly black magic roses with some orange flowers, I put a "web" of hot glue around the bouquet and some spiders.

sorry, I guess those don't really help you that much.

One thing I have heard of but have not yet done is putting a small picture frame in the bouquet. The frame holds a pic of a family member of the brides who is decesed.

Initials are also very hot over here, don't know if they are in your part of the world. Brides love to have their new last name inital on the bouquet handle.

I hope I helped out a little. Let us know what you decide to do. I will keep thinking.....

Not sure how much time you have but a company called "Posy Pockets" will customize holder with photo, mongram, etc... You can find them at
www. cameomacguffin.com Not expensive and very cool options.... wrap stems with natural products is another option... leaves, grasses, etc...

They also sell a sample package for you to sell the items to brides

Two unusual ones that come to mind (I haven't done but have seen)
- a "seashore" inspired bouquet that spills out of a large conch shell
- a native american (Indian) bouquet that was woven into a dream-catcher

If these wouldn't work for you, maybe they could be a starting point. Think about what could inspire you location or landscape wise (the beach, the mountains, etc.) or what is really interesting ethnically. Here we are seeing a lot of middle eastern influences coming. The Morrocan look, tapestries from India, etc.

Hope this can jump start your inspiration!

Here are some things I can't wait to try:

feathers, dried materials, fruit.

A problem I am noticing lately, is that the girls are showing me ads from David's Bridal, and the ads picture loose, hand held bouquets with a wide ribbon.
