Awhile back I started a thread about the centers giving me trouble. Remember how the bride wanted even glow in the vases? I was going to update that thread with the pic but it was closed. The bride requested the flat top look. I like the fuller look myself but here are the results. I rent these out and already have booked them twice from this wedding.

They look great!

I rent them for $17 each without lights, $25 each with lights, and $37 with underneath vase illuminators. I also charge replacement costs for the vase and feathers. Does that sound reasonable?

We'd probably charge $50 as shown and then add for the additional base if wanted. But if your prices get them rented than you're price point is good for your area. (What are you using to light the vases, and are there 2 in each)

Yes, two in each. They are the small accolytes. I suspended them with white string and with clear shipping tape. I wanted the bottom one to point up because when it was just laying on the bottom of the vase, I lost one whole side of the light. Then the top light points down. I found these illuminated the best this way. I then tied the string to a stick at the top and the stick layed across the opening, suspending them perfectly.

When I priced these out to be purchased, it came to almost $150 each so the bride was really happy with the $25 each. I may see how the demand is and adjust my rental pricing accordingly.

Inferno.. Can I use your pic as an example? I have someone wanting something like this... Something "light and feathery" for centerpieces..

These look great!

I did a similar arrangement last week with black feathers, white vases and pink lights. I let my girls take photos & they didn't turn out so well (the best were taken before the final adjustments were done & they're sort of 1 sided.) It was also pretty bright inside & the lights don't show. I'm hoping the photographer has some good ones I can snag.

We suspended the lights on silver bullion wire. (BTW if you pre-string these, make sure they are packaged for delivery in a NON-tangled way!)

I like the white on white better! :D

I'm not sure which post it was, but someone asked how they could light up the ET vase easily and it was suggested that a long glow stick would work. Would that be easier than stringing the Acolytes?

The feather centerpieces look awesome...I love them!

First of all - those look fantastic. Now, a little tip for next time.....one stop drop you might call it. Take a straight handle bouquet holder with a hole at the bottom of the handle. DO your feathers in the holder, tie or wire the lights to the hole and then you now have one unit ready to simply drop and go.

If you don't mind me asking but which feathers do you use? I am looking at getting some of these but unsure to which feathers look the best and both of yours looks nice. And do you use the Bouquet Holders to place the Ostrich Feathers in?

Also, which supplier do you get everything from? The cheapest one I have been able to find that ships internationally is Six Star Sales, however I do have a friend in the US that can purchase items on my behalf.

Thanks in advance!

We used feathers from Hobby Lobby (provided by the bride). We didn't use a bouquet holder--although that sounds like it would work pretty well if you used glue as well. We gathered about 6, taped them together, then added about 20 to 25 more and taped again. We found that if you didn't tape the first few, they wouldn't hold steady. I think you might still have a problem with the lights getting tangled during travel with the bouquet holders, unless you had room to travel with the feathers in the vases (we didn't). Next time, we're going to lay out the strung lights on cardboard & masking tape the ends.

Well they look fab!! Well done, i have seen this before with the crushed ice affect in the eiffel vases but i much prefer the lit up ones that you have done.

Thanks for sharing.

I also did some clear vases with soda water on the head table. I illuminated them from underneath and they bubbled all night.
Very nice work !!!! Can you tell me how you supported the feathers? To get the flat top look? Really has the palm tree effect on the tables. Did you play around with any other color lite in the vase?
I think the black and pink look hot too.
I'm really liking this look!

I use the bouquet holders for the feathers. The best price and quality I found was buying the feathers in bulk at www.fabulousfeathers.net . One pound is $200 for the 19" to 23" white plus $20 shipping. But one pound turned out to be approximately 120 feathers. I put 14 to 16 feathers in each centerpiece. One or two more rentals and I have all the product paid for and I can use the feathers in other designs. I bought the white feathers but they come in many colors.
