It's been a crazy year! Last year on this date, I was in Paris, celebrating Easter at Notre Dame. Then came "the diagnoses". I've had surgery, chemo, been declared all clear. I'm now ready to fight the breast cancer. More surgery this week, followed by radiation. I tried to talk the Dr. into waiting until after Mother's Day. No can do!
I've been back at the shop a lot more the past couple of months. Did Valentine's and now have a whole new appreciation for florist's stamina.
This week we did a party with 38 centerpieces, major prom, and large wedding. Will be going in this afternoon to service a funeral. Business is good. I don't know how I did it bc (before cancer), I am just crawling, with my tongue hanging out at this point.
Mt. Pleasant will have a new cancer center opening up in April. I will be volunteering there along with two of my friends (one who has lung cancer, the other with breast cancer). We are known as "The Sistas". Through this all, I think I've found the true purpose for my life. Spread the cheer, not the fear. What a better place to begin than with flowers? I now find joy in everything I do. Every opportunity is exciting.
I hope and pray that none of you or your loved ones have to go through what I've been through to learn this lesson. I look back over this past year as a gift!
Thank you all for your continued prayers. Flower-Chatters are the BEST!
