I am a freelance designer, and do not have a website.

I have been offering professional floral design services for 8 years. This is my second profession, which I run from my home, as I work full time in a public library.

I do not have any formal floral education, though I have been arranging flowers my entire life.

I found this website through a google search, when I was hoping to gain some insight in creating a floral design contract.

I am hoping to network with other floral professionals, to share ideas and resources.

Thank you for your interest in our community. I have a few additional questions.
~Do you have a business license and pay sales tax on your orders?
~Since you operate from your home, do you have proper refrigeration and a flower processing area set aside?
~You mentioned that you free-lance, do you free lance for other florists or just work from your home for your own clients?

Sorry to be so nosy, it's just that this is a forum for professional florists, the knowledge & experience represented here came at great expense. If by working out of your home, you are competing with actual brick & mortar florists (who have rent, sales tax and other overhead to pay...not to mention what some of us paid for our education) this may not be the right place for you.

Home-Based Floral Designer

I have been providing professional floral design services for the past 8 years. While I don't have any formal floral design education, I have been arranging flowers since I was a child. Having done the flowers for my own wedding (22 years ago!), and for a number of other family members and friends, I finally decided to establish a more formal business, and Upper Farm Floral was born.

I love what I do, and consider it a privilege and an honor to provide this service.

Yes, I do have a business license, and I have a barn specifically designated to my business. The refrigeration issue is a bit more tenuous. At the moment, I use 3 old household refridgerators, but I am in the process of renovating a new space which will have a walk in refridgerated space.
