I got a call Saturday afternoon from a customer saying she has been trying all day to place a order to Elliot Lake through the internet all to be rejected. One of them was with Urban Florist. They told her the order was only be delivered on Tues so she told them to cancel the order, that she needed it today for the person birthday. They said they will charge her a $15.00 cancellation fee. She said no way you will and that she works for the RCMP and she wil lodge a complaint with their fraud charge Dept. Seems they decide to waive that cancellation fee for he this time.
So she asked me if I can help her with the order. Sure I can, even if my deliveries are going out in 30 minutes I took the time to do a beautiful arr for her. Now I can't really know for sure if she is giving me a line that she is working for the RCMP in Ottawa or not, but I know she will deal with me directly from now on. I fed her a little bit more on our friends at Urban and Vancouver Florist and can only hope they get a visit from their fraud charge dept. of the RCMP. I think by the sound of things Urban Order would have come directly from a farm and since they don't know where Elliot Lake is, tues delivery would not have happen with Fed Ex, if they received the order on monday to be sent out.

I am surprised that Dateline NBC, or any of those informative magazine shows have not done a secret shoppers test online and gave the results on it and cost associated to deal with these companies versus a direct florist.

Maybe one day I will write them a letter.

Luc, I have wondered the same thing about Dateline, etc. I would hope that if they ever do that program that they would have someone like you to guide them so that they would understand the difference in these deceptive ones and real florists.

I saw an article where the author had ordered flowers from several sources, including some that were drop shipped from 1800 and similar. I seem to remember that FTD(.com?) was rated pretty high, but the writer seemed to have no clue that the arrangement had actually been done by a local florist.
