Does anyone have experience using google adwords or equivalent on yahoo? We want to increase web advertising and are considering our options. We have an offer from FTD's program to advertise on the top 3 search engines. Is it worth it to pay them to manage it for me or should I do it myself? Will it actually save $? Thanks for your help.

Be very careful.

A PPC program can be very expensive. Letting them control it is an option but you need to make it perfectly clear what is your targting audience. Is it local or is it national. I really don't have to many good things to say about all the PPC that is out there and everyone seems to be swithching there advertising to this. That is the search engines and even the phone directories are switching to PPC. Google PPC is by far the best with many options on how to focus on your targeted customers. Yahoo I have nothing nice to say and MSN just haven't had the time yet. I recomend asking alot of questions and really taking the time and read everything on these programs before you start.

The most cost effective solution to increasing your Website advertising is working on a blog.
Let me make this perfectly clear.

What better way to showcase new products, promote to your local customers and its free!!!. FREE FREE FREE.

Goodluck with your decsion and one more thing. PPC is not the magic solution. It is not going to drive thousands of customers to your site. It will help with some web presence but it is not the only solution.

I'm with Eric on this one... BE VERY CAREFUL!!!

I have seen florist friends of mine loose $200K-$350,000.00 in a few months including a major holiday on PPC....easily done, and not easily recovered from...

Depending on your market it can become cut throat.

I preffer to work on SEO'ing my site for local orders, and have, as Eric suggested recently begun a store blog to add content and link to my flower site. So far just for today we have over $800.00 in web orders... no it's not alot compared to the big OG's but it is alot for me...
