Last weekend I used geranium leaves everywhere per request of the bride. Love it but very pricey - $8/bu. I felt I was a little wasteful having to strip off lower leaves for bouquets and I would try to get two pieces out of one stem whenever possible for centerpieces. The leaves themselves become pretty limp if detached from the stem. Was hesitant to wire them into bouquets. Interested to know how others are using this great greenery?

I use it for just about all my summer weddings. I went out and bought 4" plants and planted them behind my store and at home (to defray the cost and so I could get the particular scent I wanted). I have done this for the past few years and it works great!!!!

I used to have the same concerns about wilting!! I switched to a variety that has a smaller rufflier leaf (rose scented). When I can't get the smaller varieties, I use the bigger limper leaves, but back them with veriegated pittosporum underneath (like an underwire bra, just kidding). You can also tuck it into the bouquet between a few flowers with some strength (roses, stock). I primarily use it for the scent, not the look, so I don't mind tucking it where it can barely be seen.

It just makes us all happy to have it out on the design table...I have some there now.

REALLY.........................

Well, I'll be....

See it's been on the list of stuff that I get from my wholesaler. But I haven't bout it cause I though "Gross, i don't want to smell no nasty geranium." I hate geranium, blkach!!!! <------Me grossing out!

Maybe I'll try it.

Growing in the backyard of the shop (year-round climate though) specifically for cutting, owner buys it too when on the market, fab as a collar for everyday little posies, and small hand-tied bouquets, holds up just fine. Try growing it yourself like Amy does.
