I've had a very busy week and haven't been on FC very often, I see I've missed ALOT!!

I had a couple flowers for kids classes

trick or treating with my kids

and my FIRST ever bridal show over the weekend!!
(went very well)

planning a retirement party for one of my staff members who has been in the industry for 50 years. Party is this weekend. (will be another busy weekend, as it's my daughters b-day also)

In the middle of it all, I contracted a virus called vertigo. For those who are not familiar, it basiclly is that my equalibriam (sp?) is knocked out of whack.
Remember being a kid and spinning and spinning, then stopping and trying to walk? That is pretty much vertigo but it last a LOT longer. I am still having symptoms, but getting better.

I am trying to catch up with all these threads, but...

Welcome back!

Sorry about the vertigo. One of my employees, in her young 30s, suffers from that. I never knew that it was a virus.

Welcome back Carrieann. Let us know how the show went. :)

As for the vertigo... hopefully all symptoms will disappear soon and you'll be right as rain. May I suggest you avoid some threads, as they may make your head spin. ;)

Carrieann,

I'm so sorry you were hit with vertigo. I had that twice, about 5 and 6 years ago. Thank goodness, knock on wood, it hasn't returned. It's awful, and hard to describe if you haven't experienced it. All you can do is lay down and do nothing til it passes (mine took 6 or 8 hours to pass), and maybe have a bowl nearby for the nausea (ick).

I never heard it was caused by a virus either.. interesting!

I didn't know vertigo was caused by a virus either. The doctor said it usually starts with a ear infection, but I don't have one.

I got it on Friday night, and finally went to the doctor on Tuesday. He said it could last a couple of weeks, but gets a little better each day. I was bad for about 3-4 days. Now it is just slight.

Yes, it is very very hard to explain and understand if you have never had it.
My grandmother gets it from time to time, and I now know what she goes through. I don't wish it on anyone. Well, maybe a couple people ;)

The bridal show was my first one ever. It was a lot of fun, even with the vertigo.

We were the only florist there so that was nice. I did all the designs in white flowers.

I did 3 different themes: roses, gerberas, and tropical

My designs went over really well, lots of comments on them.

I put out a sign that said, "Please touch the flowers" people really got a kick out of that.

I put our table up against the wall, so we were not standing behind it, but among the brides.

I made a large picture board frame of some of my pics from my portfolio and put it on an easel. Also had the portfolio there for people to look through.

I got most of these ideas from threads on here, so to everyone,
THANK YOU!!

works still been crazy so I haven't yet had time to catch up on threads, I hope to soon though, I might need to take 2 days off from work just to read through all this. LOL

Carrie,

Are you saying you were spinning for 3 or 4 days? OMG, the longest I've ever had it was about 8 hrs. I can't even IMAGINE going thru that for days and days! Wow. :~(

Sort of, it was more like a swaying.

spinning when I was lying down and swaying when I was standing. The more I moved, the faster I moved, the more the swaying.

very weird, very strange, and very hard to explain

Carrie, really pleased your first bridal fayre went well. They are so much hard work and when it goes well its really worth it. Hope you get lots of bookings. Also glad you are so busy with work. Not so glad you have been feeling poorly... Hope you are feeling better soon.

Try to post some pics of your fayre, i love to have a look at fayres. They can be so inspiring.

Sorry to hear of your vertigo it really is awful when you have a bad bout of it but if you can take a tablespoon of cider vinegar each morning it is supposed to help my mum had it really bad many times only way she could get from a to b was on her hands and knees don't know whether it was a myth or not but she started on the vinegar and thankfully it cleared she never had it again but took the vinegar every morning right up until she died.
Well done on your wedding fayre
